On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (09/30/20), Hank addresses a topic that is brought up over and over again, and that is the Nephilim spoken of by Moses in Genesis 6:4. Invariably, people assume that the Nephilim are the offspring of demonic beings who cohabitated with women, and as such, they are hybrids—not fully human. In fact, a recent caller to the broadcast went as far as to say that he knew that the Nephilim are part human and part demon because as women and demons cohabited prior to the Flood, so too they are doing so in the present. Believing that questions have to be answered in terms of what the Bible says, Hank examines this passage carefully to clear up the confusion.

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (09/29/20), Hank addresses a question he received on Facebook from John who asks, “In 2 Kings chapter 2, why would God honor Elisha’s prayer to bring down a curse on a group of kids to be mauled by bears? Isn’t the sixth commandment ‘you shall not kill’?” In response, Hank begins by noting that this is not a group of innocent young children, but rather dangerous, morally culpable, teenage gang members. They knew what they were doing in mocking God’s oracle to the nations. They intentionally went after Elisha to mock him and vicariously blaspheme God, a sin punishable by death. In response to John’s reference to the sixth commandment, Hank points out that the Bible does not prohibit killing per se, but unjust killing. What the sixth commandment forbids is murder—unjustified homicide. But more to the point, God alone has the authority to terminate life.

On today’s Bible Answer Man broadcast (09/28/20), Hank brings up an event that was hosted by a group of Christian leaders—Jonathan Cahn among them—on the National Mall in Washington D.C. this weekend; the event was simply dubbed, “The Return: National and Global Day of Prayer and Repentance.” The event had much to commend it; images of people prostrated before God in prayer confessing their sins and the sins of our nation and frequent calls to repent are no doubt needed in our era of unfettered hedonism. What is also needed is discernment—particularly discernment on the part of Christian leaders! A significant number of them now hail Cahn’s Bible Codes as important evidence for the inspiration of Scripture. They claim that such events as 9/11 are encoded in the biblical text. In truth, what should be self-evident is that Cahn’s arguments are little more than a fringe variety of Jewish mysticism repackaged for Christian consumption.

It seems to me that most mainstream Christians believe that it would be an absolute disaster if the Republican party doesn’t win this election. What would you say?
