Key Learning's From Lesson Two

• When faced with a death sentence, Daniel went to his three friends “that they might seek mercies from the god of heaven concerning this secret so they would not perish”
• The secret was revealed to Daniel and he blessed the Lord God of heaven
• In the presence of King Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel tells the King, “There is a God in heaven who reveals secrets and He has made known to the King”
• Daniel tells the King, “For the God of Heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength and glory”
• Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face prostrate before Daniel and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets since you could reveal this secret.”

Key learnings from our lesson tonight

• Daniel “purposed in his heart” not to defile himself with the food offered to idols
• God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams
• King Nebuchadnezzar interviewed them all and none was found like them in all wisdom and understanding and the king found them 10 times better than all the magicians and astrologers in his realm
• God honors those who “purpose in their hearts not to sin” 
• God raises up his people and puts them in positions of influence for his plan and purpose
• Daniel and his friends show us that it is possible to live an exemplary life in a pagan world

10 Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by his vast strength. 11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens. 13 For this reason take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. 14 Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, 15 and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. 16 In every situation take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit—which is the word of God. 18 Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints. 19 Pray also for me, that the message may be given to me when I open my mouth to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel. 20 For this I am an ambassador in chains.  Was there a time in your life when you repented of your sin and asked Jesus to save you?

Ask yourself, “Are there changes that need to take place now in my walk with Jesus?”

SALVATION IS FREE BUT SANCTIFICATION TAKES A LIFETIME AND IS HARD

Where does our strength come from? (The Lord)

1.   How is God’s strength described in verse 10? (Vast strength)

a.   1 John 4:4 - You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

2.   Why should we put on the Full Armor of God? (So we can stand against the schemes of the devil-THIS IS THE 1ST TIME PAUL STATES THIS)

3.   What are these schemes? (anything to make us ineffective in our walk with Jesus)

4.   What are some examples of the devil’s schemes? (group discussion)

5.   According to verse 12, what is our struggle against? (Not people “flesh and blood”, but demonic forces under the direction of Satan)

It doesn’t mean Satan won’t use people, but that Satan is the source of our struggle

6.   Paul tells us a second time to “take up the Full Armor of God”. 

a.   Why does Paul tell us again? (This is of utmost importance in the Christian life)

b.   How much of the armor should we put on? Why?

c.   What reasons does verse 13 give us? (so that I can resist the devil and HAVING PREPARED EVERYTHING to take a stand!)

God destroys the universe and creates a new heaven and new earth! Those that confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised them from the dead will be with God in His dwelling place for ever and ever.  He will wipe every tear from their eyes.  There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain. Jesus will, "Make everything new".  There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever with the Lord. Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

After a moving time of praise and worship in heaven, Jesus and the armies of heaven followed Him as He came to earth on a white horse and struck down the nations that rejected Him. The Antichrist and False Prophet were captured and thrown alive into the lake of fire. Jesus seized the dragon, who is Satan and bound him for 1000 years in the pit and shut it and sealed it over him.  Those that were martyred  and those that did not receive the mark on the foreheads or hands reigned with Christ for 1,000 years.
At the end of the 1,000 year reign of Jesus, Satan was loosed, gathered all the non-believers, surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city.  Fire from heaven came down from heaven and consumed them.  Satan was thrown into the lake of fire where along with the Antichrist and False Prophet, remained for ever and ever.
 Everyone who's name was not written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. 
 If you are not 100% sure where you will spend eternity, now is the time to REPENT OF YOUR SINS AND ASK JESUS TO SAVE YOU.
If you are 100% sure that your name in in the book of life, you need to invite as many people as you know to join you in the Kingdom of God for ever and ever!
Romans 10:9-10 - If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 

The governments and religions of the world ally themselves with the Antichrist and reject Jesus's offer of salvation. The domain of darkness lead by Satan turns on the governments and religions of the world before he (Satan) is defeated
Revelation 17:14 - They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

With all of this light some come to a saving knowledge of Christ but most do not repent and become more and more angry and continue to curse God.
The 7 Bowls of Wrath

• First Bowl-Festering sores broke out on the people who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image.
• Second Bowl-The sea, and it turned into blood like that of a dead person, and every living thing in the sea died.
• Third Bowl-The rivers and springs of water became blood.
• Fourth Bowl-The sun was allowed to scorch people with fire.They were seared by the intense heat and they cursed the name of God, who had control over these plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him.
• Fifth Bowl-The throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done.
• Sixth Bowl-The great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up
• Seventh Bowl-A severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. From the sky huge hailstones, each weighing about a hundred pounds, fell on people. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.

4 Categories of Non-Repentance

Murders - Even prior to birth.  The pagans respected the womb.  Abortion was punished by death

Sorcery - Use of drugs to dull the senses for seances, witchcraft, and cavorting with mediums

Fornication - sexual intercourse between people not married to each other.

Theft - Institutional theft, stealing of your property, socialism is the worst kind of theft

Revelation 9:20

The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.

Luke 24:47 - and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Repentance: 

Definition - to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one's life

Acts 2:38 - Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Isaiah 59:20 - “The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins,” declares the Lord.

Ezekiel 14:6 - “Therefore say to the people of Israel, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Repent! Turn from your idols and renounce all your detestable practices!
