In Christ, believers have received an inheritance beyond anything we could ever imagine. But how do we know that we will actually receive everything God has promised us?

In this episode of BIBLE Study with Alex, we continue our study through Ephesians 1 and discover that the Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee of our future inheritance. We have been predestinated according to God’s purpose, saved by believing the gospel, and sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.

The Holy Spirit is described as the “earnest”—the down payment and guarantee—of our inheritance until the final redemption of God’s purchased possession. Our inheritance in heaven is still coming, but God has already given us Himself as the guarantee that we will one day be with Him.

We also revisit the story of Acts 19, where Paul encountered disciples of John the Baptist in Ephesus and pointed them to faith in Jesus Christ. The gospel was heard, believed, and the Holy Spirit was received.

God has not merely promised to be with us someday. He has come to live within us now.

Have you ever considered that your salvation was not an accident or a last-minute solution? Before the foundation of the world, God had a perfect plan of redemption through Jesus Christ.

Who wrote the book of Ephesians, and why does it matter?

What does it mean to be an heir of God?

In Titus 3:7, Paul tells us that being justified by God’s grace has made us “heirs according to the hope of eternal life.” But what exactly is our inheritance, and how do we receive it?

In this episode, we’ll revisit the great truths of salvation found in Titus 3:4-6, exploring regeneration, renewal by the Holy Ghost, and the abundant grace of God poured out through Jesus Christ. Then we’ll discover the incredible promise that every believer has been adopted into God’s family and made a joint-heir with Christ.
