There's an estimated 1 septillion stars in the universe (that's 100 billion stars in our Milky Way times 100 billion galaxies in the universe). But even more amazing, God knows the exact number of stars and gave each of them a name (Psalm 147:4).
Dr. Bruce Becker won't look at all 1 septillion stars in this episode, but he will explore how the Bible talks about stars, stars as metaphors, the stars' relationship with God's people, stars' significance during the end times, and a special star that the Bible appears to use in a contradictory manner. Through this deep dive, we'll see how the stars and universe testify to God's greatness and power.
This is the last episode this summer. Dr. Becker will return this fall with a new "Bible Threads" series looking at how different numbers are used in the Bible, along with their significance and symbolism. About our podcast "Bible Threads With Dr. Bruce Becker":
The Bible can be intimidating, right? There are 66 different books, more than 700,000 words, and all of it was written over a period of 1,600 years by dozens of different authors. How do we make sense of it all, and what does it mean for our lives? Amazingly, the Bible is incredibly interconnected with “threads” that run through it from beginning to end. In this podcast, Bible scholar and author Dr. Bruce Becker will uncover these threads, help you dig deeper into God’s truth, and inspire you to live your life with greater confidence and joy.
Dr. Becker brings his vast experience to share with you through this podcast. He has served as the pastor of a mission start in New York State; lead pastor of a church in Brillion, Wisconsin; and a ministry coach to churches and schools.
