  • Faith vs. Apologetics in Responding to the Lost

Why do I blog on Medium.com and BCWorldview.net?

The impact mature Christians can have on a blog platform (or elsewhere) is impossible to quantify on this side of the grave. How many books have been written documenting the sacrifice of evangelists who spent their lives trying to establish a beachhead of Christian faith in dark places, only to have their impact identified after the fact? One of the regular writers on Medium, David Knott has just published a book entitled "FOR HIM" which includes just one of these many stories. In this case, it was a single conversion a small child had through a young, discouraged missionary, which sparked a major revival this missionary knew nothing about until the end of his life.

God calls us to use our gifts to serve Him in the calling He has put on our hearts. In the end, we need not forget...

So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. - 1 Corinthians 3:7

  • Uncovering the Destructive Strategy of Anti-Christian Writers on Popular Medium.com

This article intends to expose the true use of keywords such as "Christianity" on the Medium.com platform. Anti-Christian writers are trolling for converts and with ongoing disillusionment with the church and the Bible, there are sadly many to be found.

We are in a battle, one that God has called us to participate in. He has not called us to hide our faith under a basket (Matt. 5:15).

  • The Danger of a Seminary Education

Listening to some podcasts and reading some of the deep theological constructs currently being debated by seminarians, it is easy to become overwhelmed by the minutia. It reminds me of a quote many years ago by J. Vernon McGee who frequently stated his goal was to present the Bible in a clear, straightforward manner. Quoting Dr. Ironside, his desire in teaching the Bible was to “put the cookies on the bottom shelf”. There is nothing inherently wrong with seminaries and Biblical scholars debating the finer points of theology. However, there are at least five areas of caution for the layperson.

Recently I had a conversation with a very educated brother in Christ who posed the question, “Does one need to be seminary-trained to be a church pastor?” My initial opinion was that a Biblical Christian seminary provides a foundation for teaching and acts as a filter, both in core theology and an ability to deliver value to a pastoral role and/or missionary opportunity. However, stepping back, there are areas where we should not accept the value of educational institutions, even seminaries, without a degree of skepticism and caution. This is not to say that there are not wonderful seminaries and Bible colleges that teach students to be amazing disciplers and evangelists. We just need to not take formal Christian education at face value.

  • Why are we so quick to say “Jesus Christ!” when we get Emotional

Why does mankind use God and Christ as a form of swearing?

Three points. First, there is a special place in the heart of humanity that recognizes God and Jesus as something special. For some, their faith makes Him precious. For others, our sin nature resists and rejects Him. Second, when we use God’s name in any other way than in worship, we are grieving the Holy Spirit if we are a believer (Ephesians 4:30-31), or heaping judgment on ourselves if we are not (Matthew 12.36). Third, consider who stands to gain from man cheapening words like God, Christ, Jesus, Damn, and Hell by their misuse.

  • Aliens May Exist, but there is Only One God

Whether Aliens are real or not has no bearing on a Biblical Christian Worldview.

Our Lord is the ruler, not only of the human race but of any other race(s) that may or may not exist across the universe He created, at the beginning of time.

  • Biblical Christianity – On a Positive Note

There is a lot of gloom and doom in American Christian circles resulting from the continuing deterioration of a Biblical Christian worldview. However, RealClear Opinion Research just released the results of a survey (details here) that suggests that the famous Time magazine phrase “God is Dead” may have been premature.

There is much that could be said about the data presented above. However, the numbers speak for themselves. We remain a country of believers in the supernatural regardless of how hard the minority view is pushed upon us. However, as much as we express a belief in God, Americans continue to reject the church as His foundation for our fellowship, teaching, and accountability. We may, as a nation, continue to pay lip service to our historical Christian beliefs, however, without sound teaching and the bringing up of our children in a Biblical Christian environment, we are in peril of merely stating our faith in God without having any idea what that truly means.

  • What Trends Should Christians Be Watching For in 2024

The year 2024 will be a window into our future. What are the major events and trends that will determine the direction humanity is headed from the perspective of a Biblical Christian worldview?

    A Biblical Christian Perspective

As born-again believers, we know that our citizenship is in Heaven, not this earth (Phil. 3:29). We are called to be God’s emissaries in a sin-cursed world, to make a positive difference in the lives of others, and to draw them into personal relationship with a loving yet righteous God. We also know that God is in control, regardless of the outcomes of our individual lives, as well as that of our nation and our world.

As we look back over the last 30 years there has been an unmistakable drift away from the Creator of the universe and toward an inward, self-serving belief system. This coming year holds the potential of numerous markers that will make clear if humanity is riding on a pendulum that has reached its pinnacle and is starting to move back toward a stable and just society, or if we are on a continuing negative trajectory that can only be seen as a precursor to the end-times prophesy of 2 Timothy 3:1-5, Matthew 24:21-22, 2 Peter 3:3-4, and 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17. As in the parable of the Ten Virgins, Biblical Christians should be prepared, not anxious (Matthew 6:34), but watching for the Bridegroom because we truly don't know the day nor the hour of His return (Matthew 25:1-13).
