Biblical Truths from West Palm Beach church of Christ

Have you ever heard this said or perhaps said it yourself? “I can’t forgive.” Somebody has done something to us and we simply cannot forgive that person for what they have done. Our series theme this year is called Overflow. The basis for our study comes from John 7:37-38. On the last and greatest day […]

David continues to remain in the wilderness. In the past two lessons we noted the parallels to the temptations of Jesus in the wilderness. The picture presented is that the anointed must go to the wilderness for a time of trial. David is enduring his time of trial right now. Saul continues to seek his […]

We are in the midst of a series called Faith Foundations. The apostle Paul is writing to Timothy about how the people of God are supposed to act. The greatest foundation for our faith is the fact that Jesus came to save sinners. This truth is what changes how we live. Pray (2:1-2) Paul says […]

First Samuel 25 opens with the death of Samuel. It is somewhat surprising that we have one sentence to record the death of Samuel. But this is the passing of the torch from the prophet who anointed to the one who is the anointed, David. You will notice that with the death of Samuel, David […]

We are in a series called Faith Foundations where Paul is telling Timothy what he must do and teach to the church in Ephesus. After Paul describes the goal of our instruction, he begins to give thanks to the Lord for what the Lord has done for him. Paul is going to share his life […]

The next three chapters of this book, 1 Samuel 24-26, present the three temptations of the anointed one, David. David is going to be put to the test where he will be tested in many areas. The messianic lens is very strong at this point. We are going to see David, as the anointed, going […]

We are starting a new sermon series called Faith Foundations. The basis for our study will be Paul’s first letter that he wrote to Timothy. But Paul is not writing this letter as if it was only intended for him to read with no relevance to us. We know this because God placed this letter […]

David Escapes (22:1-23) Chapter 22 opens with David leaving Gath and hiding in a cave in Adullam, which is just inside of Israel’s borders. David’s family hears that he is in the cave and his family comes to him (22:1). Listen to verse 2. Everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and […]

This morning we return to our theme for this year called Overflow. We stopped the series as the pandemic broke out and we needed to look at having faith in these difficult times. But I want us to continue moving forward in our faith. As we adapt to this new normal we need to continue […]

We have been studying 1 and 2 Samuel and seeing pictures of the anointed and how God is going to save the world. In 1 Samuel 20-21 we will see David experience all kinds of difficulties and the pursuit of Saul intensifies. As we read we are going to consider two teaching pictures as we […]
