A look at what Scripture teaches about how God works transformation in His people in the context of worship.

A look at what Scripture teaches is worship that is holy, acceptable to God, and reasonable as a response to who God is and what He has done.

Scripture teaches that worship is an attitude of heart and mind that expresses itself in various external ways.  The external expressions are important but are empty apart from the proper inward attitude.

Scripture teaches that our worship is a service to God and that our serving others in the Name of Jesus is worship.

Scripture teaches that our worship is an offering to God and that our offerings to God are worship.

Scripture teaches that worship is our response to what God says and does and who God reveals Himself to be.  Above all it is our response to His work of salvation.

This passage speaks to living in light of the new life we have in Christ --pursuing and thinking about heavenly things, killing sin and being conformed to the image of Christ.

The book of James was written to address the concern that faith was being counterfeited, or in other words, people were claiming to be believers but their life didn't show it. In a series of tests throughout the book, James helps us identify genuine faith. Here in chapter 5, verse 12, he identifies one of those tests-the importance of integrity in our speech.
