The personal stories are where this shines
"Launch Out into the Deep" is a collection of short vignettes and poetry, often followed by discussion questions. Some chapters are retellings of classic biblical stories, while others are personal or fictional anecdotes. Each one has a certain theme that addresses the difficulties and concerns of modern-day Christians.
Acacia Slaton Beumer's essays are direct, easy to read, and allow for reflection and interpretation. Her youthful and honest voice is reminiscent of the Chicken Soup series -- and her sometimes candid confessions add a refreshing element to the genre. Christian teens and young women especially could relate to some of Acacia's personal tribulations, as in her story of how the power of her parents' prayer put an unchaste boyfriend to sleep. Although she writes with conviction, the messages of this book are non-denominational, and would be appropriate for all Christians.
Since it's written from such a firm Christian perspective, I don't think "Launch Out into the Deep" would be an effective conversion tool, but it would be an excellent addition to the collection of any Christian family or group, as a source for inspiration and reflection.
Highly Recommended
The author has succeeded in relaying her own lessons in life into an insightful and inspirational book. Using both the good and bad choices she has made, the author examines the why? of her choices to provide counsel to all of us who face the same situations. Relevent to men and women and especially teenagers. I must highly recommend this book. Though this is a faith based book. It is relevant to everyone seeking to realize their value in todays world. Well written and enjoyable to read.

Judging by the cover of this book, I thought it was for young adults, tweeners, and maybe a science fiction novel. One should never judge a book by it's cover.
This is in reality, in the author's own words: Bold, daring, daring and life-changing truths, candid answers to real-life stories and scenarios.
LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP! addresses these issues and more:

LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP! would be wonderful as a small group book. But the age limits are not really well defined.
