Sticks and stones will hurt my bones but words will never hurt me. This may be a proverb that keyboard warriors hide behind as they spew hatred online. Katie Hopkins and David Icke are recent examples of the removing of accounts from Twitter. Donald Trump was warned. Free speech becomes more complicated when social media is involved. Are these sites still battle ground of ideas? Should the onus be on users to block or mute what they don’t want to see, or on site owners to permanently stamp their foot down?
