Decades of pleas by park users weren’t enough, nor was a speeding van running over (now bike activist) Damian Kevitt and removing his leg. Now, a much-loved community elder struck and killed on a bike path in Griffith Park finally got one of the park’s roads closed to through traffic through a “temporary” yet “indefinite” pilot program.
