Matthew & Fernando interview Bill Barhydt, founder and CEO of Abra.

Bill has extensive experience in Silicon Valley and fintech, from Goldman Sachs to Netscape. In 2014, Bill founded Abra to democratize finance across the globe using Bitcoin. Their product is very interesting and unique, focusing on the on/off-ramps with fiat today, but also geared toward freeing the user to fully control their funds and finances in the future.

We speak about some general Bitcoin and internet history, to Bitcoin scaling, and focus the most time on how the Abra product works. Abra allows users to quickly and easily hold and convert both cryptocurrencies and fiat, locally and under their full control, due to Abra's unique collateralization model using the Bitcoin network and hedging partners. Bill ends with some further thoughts on Abra's direction and vision for the future; for example, entering the lending markets.
