Crudup spoke about the larger mission of the film, which is, by all accounts, accurate and honest, and his own goal as an actor. Alongside Crudup, Spotlight stars Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, Brian d’Arcy James and Stanley Tucci as it depicts how the Boston Globe earned a duly deserved Pulitzer Prize for its investigation and, more importantly, revealed a city wide crisis of abuse, which the Catholic Church covered up for decades.
