Binary System Podcast

We Speak Geek

Short episode this week, but two important things: we recapped the latest episode of Alice Isn’t Dead, and we think (maybe) we might (quite possibly) have come up with our cosplay for New York Comic-Con. Unless you can think of something better. We dare you!Read OnBinary System Podcast #38 – Alice Isn’t Dead #6 “Sylvia”

The title to this week’s Welcome To Night Vale episode sums it up: things in Night Vale are falling apart. It’s bad enough that the gas, electricity, and water is out, but now the surveillance cameras aren’t working? Everybody panic! (Quietly. Where the Sheriff’s Secret Police can’t hear you.)

(Kidding. They can always hear you.)Read OnBinary System Podcast #37 – WTNV #88 “Things Fall Apart”

On this week’s episode we’re discussing Captain America: Civil War (don’t worry, no spoilers,) Daredevil (nope, no spoilers here either,) High-Rise (still no spoilers) and recap the latest episode of Alice Isn’t Dead. (Lots of spoilers there.)

Along the way we get into the finer points of when you should and should not go back to see if that’s really a dead body over there…Read OnBinary System Podcast #36 – Alice Isn’t Dead Chapter 5: Signs and Wonders

The long awaited trial of Hiram McDaniels has finally arrived. Aaaand now it’s done. That was fast.

We didn’t get to see much of the trial (Mayor Cardinal took the charge to “Tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth” a little too seriously, and they had to clear the courtroom), but the results were exactly what we WEREN’T expecting. Justice in Night Vale isn’t for wimps. Or anybody, really.

And weirdly, on the eve of Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War we somehow ended up giving a little love to DC and the handful of shows and animations that they’ve done well. This was after we made snarky comments about Batman v Superman and Convergence, but the love got in there eventually.Read OnBinary System Podcast #35 – WTNV #87 “The Trial of Hiram McDaniels”

This week’s episode of Alice Isn’t Dead was like a Ray Bradbury short story; it was beautiful and surreal and oh so creepy. If the writers keep this up then we’re looking forward to many more chapters in this very odd story. (And we promise to stop accidentally calling the narrator “Alice” if you’ll just TELL US HER NAME EVENTUALLY.)

More topics discussed on this podcast: the Welcome To Night Vale live show, Elizabeth finally started watching Season 2 of Daredevil, Kathryn’s finally finished House of Cards, and the Saga comic book is still not for children.Read OnBinary System Podcast #34 – Alice Isn’t Dead #4 “Factory By the Sea”

In this week’s Night Vale episode we got to see a lot more of these Strangers that aren’t doing much, except standing there…and breathing… andthensuddenlyappearingrightnexttoyouwithoutmoving YIPE!

After that we talked about what we’re catching up on (Daredevil, House of Cards, and Hannibal) and then drop all the spoilers on Crimson Peak because Elizabeth finally watched it and we had to talk about how amazingly pretty it is. And don’t worry, we don’t make one single mention of Tom Hiddleston’s butt. Except here. Sorry. (Not sorry.)Read OnBinary System Podcast #33 – WTNV #86 “Standing and Breathing”

This week we’re recapping the latest episode of Alice Isn’t Dead and then we talk about the things that, on a deep and primitive level, scare the hell out of us. Then we cheer ourselves up with some Zootopia and Daredevil, freak ourselves out again with the idea of motherhood in The Walking Dead world, and then get the giggles by recommending that folks make sure their…bidness…is taken care of.

Also this is an open call for suggestions: what’s a good character to cosplay while wearing glasses?Read OnBinary System Podcast #32 – Alice Isn’t Dead #3 “Nothing To See”

Okay, right, Welcome To Night Vale, The April Monologues. Interesting episode, more info on some of the characters, Steve Carlsburg has doomed the world, yada yada yada. NOW ABOUT THAT WALKING DEAD SEASON FINALE…Read OnBinary System Podcast #31 – WTNV #85 “The April Monologues”

On the latest episode of “Alice Isn’t Dead”, things are getting creepier for our narrator (who’s name we still don’t know), and we learn a few more pieces of important information about her (other than minor details, like, y’know, her name).

We also do a very quick WonderCon review, geek out over the fight scenes in Daredevil and (spoilers) talk about the second-to-last episode of the season for The Walking Dead. And how we TOTALLY DO NOT CARE who they kill off. Nope. Not a bit. Scuse us, we’re going to go hide under the bed now….Read OnBinary System Podcast #30 – Alice Isn’t Dead #2 “Alice”
