In advance of the remake due out before year's end, the boys take a look at the classic Italian Giallo, Suspiria.  The boys talk the film's influence, their experience with it and how the Italian economy must have really been taking a beating, what with all the 90-year-old-hookers abound.

All this and more, so download now!

And so that you can watch along with us, next time on Movie Homework is Dial M For Murder

Week 3 brings more confusion as to who is good in the NFL.   The Bills beat the Vikings?!  9-6 Titans over the Jags?  The Patriots lose again, and the Dolphins continue to surprise.  Then we make our Week 4 picks.  Also a little Tiger Talk. And EMo D emerges.

The idea seemed like a simple one. With Rocky having defeated Russia in Rocky IV, brothers/writers Jim and John Thomas wondered what was left for him to face and conquer. You add the caveat of an alien being dropped off on earth to hunt, and you have the initial ingredients of the Predator franchise. Being kicked off by opponents Arnold Schwarzeneggar and his band of commandos in 1987, the Predator character has lived on in movies, comics, and video games. With writer/director Shane Black bringing the character back to the screen this month, I bring Matt and Alyx on to look at the cinematic incarnations of the character, and cap it off with a look at The Predator, determining whether he has been used up to its full potential.

In order to have a franchise, you need a fantastic original film. And I don't feel like I'm spoiling a thing by saying that Matt, Alyx, and I feel the original Ah-nold starring Predator film not only fits the bill, but is also a bonafide action classic. But like most films, it wasn't exactly easy to make. Join the three of us as we dissect the film, and also discuss the making, writing, and casting of the cinematic vehicle behind one of science fiction's most beloved characters.

We then move on to Predator 2, where they messed with the formula by casting Danny Glover a guy who was 'too old for this shit,' to be Predator's main foe. We dig deep into this sequel, as everything from its casting to the presence of Jamaicans in 1990 cinema is discussed. And what would an Aftertaste be without a little fighty-fighty?

Come back on Friday, as we discuss Robert Rodriguez's Predators and Shane Black's The Predator.

Note: Be sure to check the bloopers at the end of this show, as I include a clip recorded in between podcasts where we all watch -me for the very first time- and discuss the much debated new Joaquin Phoenix Joker screen test footage just released by Todd Phillips last week.

Law and Moreno exchange banter, try to remember what happened last week, answer some quality voicemail, review some television and a couple movies and then do their version of a Fall Movie Preview. Their version includes a lot of peeing, sounder wars, and yelling at each other.

Pete and I are here this week to discuss the second episode, Escorpion.  What the hell is going on with the cartel, the rebels, 40 year old prospect and that really hot chick at the dog sanctuary?

We answer everything right here.

Week 2 is in the books.  We break it down, try to figure out what the f?@k is going on with some of the NFL teams, and discuss which teams are emerging as this years best bets to make the playoffs.  Also, Jameis Winston and LeShawn McCoy are in the news again, and not for their skills on the gridiron. Then we make our Week 3 picks.

There's a lot of yelling about The Predator, Google Voice doesn't disappoint, and we both fall asleep at some point.
