Binge Media

We're back this week with another Fargo commentary, however this time, no Ewan McGregor.  And no Gooey McGregor.  Instead we get a weird back story into Ennis Stussy's short career as a Hollywood screenwriter and Gloria's motorcycle print shirts.  Could this be better if it was shot on Tattooine?  Did Mac clean his act up and become an L.A. cop?

Francesca Eastwood is distractedly hot.

Enter the next two films of the Alien universe with myself, Jack, and Moreno as we watch Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection. The last two films (for now?) of the Sigourney Weaver Quadrilogy, they are certainly not looked back fondly by most. But will one of more of us enjoy them, especially the Mexican asshole on the podcast who hadn't seen either before this week?

Listen below to find out, and be sure to tune in next week when we do two, well, non existent Vs films.

Download below, CS'ers.

Alien 3 (1992) (?/10, ?/10, ?/10)

No Binge listeners. This is not the second part of our Alien Retrospective. For this, a show containing an interview and a few reviews, I thought I would make it its own thing? Is making it its own thing a thing?

Anyway, on this 40 plus minute show I get to interview the beautiful Teri Reeves, one of the stars of the brand new film Black Site Delta, coming to select theaters May 5th and Video On Demand & ITunes on May 9th. Reeves details what it's like playing in the boy's club of action movies, and if she would be open to doing a romantic comedy, among other subjects. I would like to thank Reeves for her time, as she was very fun to talk to.

But that's not all. I also review Get Out, The Founder, talk about the controversial new Netflix show 13 Reasons Why, and give a slight preview to tomorrow's Alien Retrospective posting. Download below, CS'ers.

Nate P, laser wars, fart sounds, and an early GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 review. If that doesn't sound like the greatest BingeCast of all time I got nothing for you here.

Come inside to hear Nate's long lost first call to the show, his thoughts on the greatest British movies and television shows, and the exclusive first appearance of his daughter on a podcast.

Also, Law and Moreno have a laser war that goes on for way too long and somehow evolves into fart sounds that make Law giggle uncontrollably in the background for the last hour of the show.

We also review a dozen movies, lots of television, and get drunk on some brilliant Google Voice.

Where Timestamp Guy with all the details I forgot?

0:00:00- So Britishy

0:04:20-Law, Moreno, and that Kurt Russell hater across the pond, Nate P. Ammon is off pitching a tent. Not sexual. Literal as it can be. How did Nathaniel discover Binge Media? There's also the origin story of Nate's initial GV, but was it his actual first call? Whaaaaa? Law and Moreno track down the Lohhhst (lost) voicemail like Indiana fucking Jones. Nate is asked about British movies and the telly. Peterson can't wait to try some of that deep duhish pizza in Chicago. Babadish.

0:48:28-TV ROUND UP. Nate just finished that Leah Remini Scientology show, along with The Trip to Spain (what the fuck?) and Happy Valley. Moreno and Law talk Better Call Saul and Fargo. Law brings up Brockmire, Silicon Valley (which Nate jumps in for), Veep, and the Roseanne revival (it's a thing). Laugh tracks and shit. Team Stephen Merchant or Team Ricky Gervais?

2:00:52-GOOGLE VOICE. Nate imitates Ammon, starts it off right. LASERS HOLY SHIT.

2:30:53-I love this new sounder. Lawlapalooza stuff. More sound effects.

2:41:14-MOVIE HOMEWORK: Joe vs. the Volcano. More lasers.

3:07:00-WHAT DID YOU WATCH? Moreno watched some Alien movies. He also saw Get Out. Law trucks through Avatar, Apollo 13, Fish Tank, American Honey, Colossal, The Fate of the Furious, Life, and Edge of Seventeen. Nate brings his A game and reviews Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

And that's it, you a-holes.

There are film series. And then there is the Alien series.

There may never be a more different set of films than the Alien films. A series where the first four entries only similarity is Sigourney Weaver's character of Ellen Ripley. The second set is looked at by many as a wasted opportunity, and the original's director comes back over thirty years later to tell the philosophy filled backstory. Moods contained in the films change, as do directors behind the scenes. But will we adapt to them all the further we go along?

I have been looking for an excuse to do a retrospective on for the almost two years I have been injecting this format into the Binge Aftertaste. And with Alien Covenant rolling right around the corner (a review of which will end this series of podcasts), could there be a bigger reason?

Actually yes, as Johnny/Alyx Moreno has not seen the majority of the films. What will he think? How is Aliens to him after being told to watch it at least twice a year since him and Jim Law have been on the air? Will the hype get to him?

I am really looking forward to this series. So download the first episode below and listen to me, Jack Valley, and Johnny/Alyx Moreno journey through space. And beer.

Alien (1979) (?/10, ?/10, ?/10)

Aliens (1986) (?/10, ?/10, ?/10)

While schedules didn't allow us to record the premiere commentary, Binge Media's very own PJ the Intern and Jack Valley are here to talk a little Fargo season 3 episode 2.  The boys take a look at one of the two best "filler" shows on TV and discuss the ins, outs and what-have-yous of the seedy underbelly of learning Google, Russian gangsters and Brits with bad teeth.  Download now.

On this week's Small Screen Heroes, Batch is joined by the returning Adam Bunch!  The 2 Whovians (big nerds) have a spoiler filled recap of episode 1 "The Pilot" and episode 2 "Smile" of the new 10th season of Doctor Who.  With this being Peter Capaldi's final season as the doctor, there is a lot of speculation about who will replace him.  So we give our predictions and speculate what will happen for the rest of the season. Also, are we totally sure that Nate Peterson isn't really the doctor's new companion Nardole?

We also cover Titan publishing's new Doctor Who line of comics and the total radness of the big finish radio play that's featured in all the classic docs reprising their roles and telling untold stories with full production values.

The crossover event entitled "The Button" has started and we cover parts 1 and 2 in the new issue of The Flash and Batman and break down how it's going to effect the DCU in the months to come.

Somewhere Jack is yelling this is bullshit.

And finally we do a quick review of the new DC animated movie Teen Titans:  The Judas Contract, there is a update on the goings on on Marvels Secret empire event with evil Hydra Captain America making his move and we address the recent controversy Marvel had with X-men Gold number one and the subliminal art messages the artist tried to sneak in.

Are you excited about Doctor Who returning? Are you fuming like Jack Valley that Batman got his ass royally kicked by the reverse Flash?

Let us know in the comments below.

We're three weeks in and only two episodes in, but that just gives us more to catch up on.  Jimmy's wearing Trump makeup, Kim has aged by half a decade and Chuck is a supreme douche.  Top it all off with some more montages, some Mike scheming and Gus going full Hermanos and you get a solid episode of Better Saul Call.  Join us for each and every episode as we go through this third season of what Jim Law describes as "filler".
