  • BingeCast: TV Round Up – Better Call Saul S5 Ep4
Look, we're not going to lie folks.  This is when Saul gets super flat and shitty for us.  There's not a lot going on with any of the characters, and we hate that it gives the haters more fuel for why this is not a good show.  Anyway, listen, this is fun regardless.

  • Binge Movie Aftertaste – James Bond Retrospective w/ Matthew Goudreau and Adam Bunch: The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) and Moonraker (1979)
Before Star Wars, there was Bond. James Bond. It is a film franchise that has inspired everyone in in the industry from Steven Spielberg to Christopher Nolan to Rian Johnson. Eight actors have (unofficially) played the character over its almost sixty years in existence. And there is another one coming out this April. So what better time for the Binge Movie Aftertaste to gear up and cover a franchise that has been requested for years. Myself, Adam, and Matt are going to fire through a gun barrel the entire 26 film franchise, cultivating in a review of Cary Fukunaga's No Time To Die, which is being heralded as Daniel Craig's final bow as the character.

After the critical and semi commercial failure of The Man With The Golden Gun, the future of the James Bond franchise was in jeopardy. But the Broccolis weren't ready to hang it up yet. The signed Roger Moore to another soundtrack and got the script to The Spy Who Loved Me up and going. The result was a movie that is credited with putting the series back on a terrific commercial and storytelling track. Do we agree with this sentiment?

The conversation then moves on to one of the most notorious movies in the entire series. With Star Wars making such a huge pop cultural splash two years before, the makers of the James Bond movie Moonraker decided to take the movie into uncharted territory. With a first three quarter style Bond movie, the final quarter ended up being one opening crawl away from being a direct shot for shot Star Wars remake. But Moonraker ended up making over $200 million. Where will we fall on the opinion spectrum?

Download what is perhaps the most derailed podcast of this James Bond series so far.

    The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) (?/10, ?/10, ?/10)

    Moonraker (1979) (?/10, ?/10, ?/10)
