B•Inspired Podcast would like to introduce our season six premiere featuring special guest Lisa Spicknall. NJ Hall of Fame Broadcast Association Inductee/Producer/Host Bert Baron and  Producer /Host Lisa Anderson learn how after years of domestic abuse and the unimaginable loss, Lisa dedicated her life to becoming a Domestic Abuse Advocate. 

Lisa has worked to ensure passage of key state legislation such as the Domestic Violence Unit Fund, which provides funding assistance in the form of grants to local sheriffs and police  departments to create specialized units for service of ex-partes and protective orders and update  and maintain their domestic violence databases. Additionally, her efforts were influential in the  passage of Maryland State legislation that increases the penalties for a second offense in cases of  harassment. She was also a key party in the 2016 passing of Noah’s Law, the most effective  piece of impaired driving legislation in the state of Maryland.  

Lisa is a recognized speaker throughout Maryland and has presented for numerous Federal  Agencies including the United States Department of Justice and the FBI NCIS Conference as a  keynote speaker. She was the 2002 recipient of the Maryland Governors Victim Assistance  Award, the STARR Award for Victims Services from the Department of Public Safety and  Correctional Services, Charles County Sheriff’s Office Victim Accommodation, Center for  Abused Persons Domestic Violence Survivor Award, and People Magazine’s Hero’s Among us  in 2006. Lisa has also participated with the Verizon Hopeline Project with the Baltimore Orioles  and The House of Ruth for their Line in the Sand project and “I Will Remember You” video. 

Currently Lisa is the Executive Director for Donate Life Maryland. She is a certified Death  Notification trainer as well as having extensive training in grief, trauma and crisis response. Lisa has two son’s Zachary, 18 and Liam 16.

Chris like many other adolescents was curious and started smoking marijuana, which led him down a dark road to taking pain killers, ecstasy & OxyContin. After continuous run ins with the law, time spent behind bars, Chris found a way to grab control of his life and use his past to better those who struggle with addiction. Chris transitioned from a member/volunteer to full-time employee and is now the Program Manager and Yoga Instructor at The Phoenix  in New Jersey ( @riserecoverlive ).

Bridget Cutler is the founder and executive director of Moms Helping Moms Foundation — a New Jersey nonprofit, baby supply and diaper bank. She founded Moms Helping Moms 2011 shortly after she had her first child. While still adjusting to new motherhood, Bridget read a magazine article that changed her life. It was about a mother who decided to give her child up for adoption because she couldn’t stand to hear her crying from hunger. She was overcome with the thought that no mother should ever be faced with that choice, and no child should ever go hungry. She started collecting and distributing baby items from her garage in Hoboken. Since that day in 2011, Ms. Cutler has grown Moms Helping Moms Foundation from a small initiative to a thriving nonprofit that distributes hundreds of thousands of items, including diapers, clothing, strollers, safe sleep solutions, books to low-income families annually.

Ms. Cutler was recognized as a CNN Hero in 2015; received the New Jersey Governor's Jefferson Award in the Founders / Innovators Category in 2018 for her leadership, dedication, and commitment to addressing childhood poverty; and received a Russ Berrie Making a Difference Award in 2019.
