This week, The Backyard Naturalists welcome Tony Lombardino back to the show for a conversation around the topic of bird migration. If you’ll remember, Debbie and Laurie hosted Tony earlier this year for an installment on Bird Identification.
Tony kicks off the episode explaining the ultimate and evolutionary reason why birds migrate. He discusses the ability birds possess to allow them to return to the same nesting location each year, where various species migrate to and from and the process around the preparation of migrating
Tony has led bird walks for the Lab of Ornithology at Cornell University and hosts our local bird walks on the second Saturday of the month at Col. Francis Beatty Park in Matthews.
