Welcome to the BEVys!
It’s time for the 6th Annual BEVy Awards, presented by the Bird’s Eye View podcast. What are the BEVys, you ask? Well, the BEVys are a mid-season awards show in which we (and some of our friends and colleagues in the Bird-O’s-sphere) hand out faux awards. Except there is no real hardware, and nobody is here to accept them. The BEVys are a little bit like Who’s Line Is It, Anyway in the fact that the games are made up and the points don’t matter.

The Awards
In honor of Manny Machado, and the ensuing sadness, the 6th Annual BEVy Awards show features 13 awards. Contributors to this year’s BEVys include:

The BEVys provides us an excellent opportunity to stop and smell the roses. We enjoy producing this podcast beyond measure, and we have many people to thank for making the effort possible, and for making it so much fun. Machadios

We knew this was coming. The Orioles are historically bad, and have thus far mismanaged the Manny Machado situation. Instead of signing a generational talent, the Orioles were destined to trade him away – and having waited this long, they were destined to get less than what we would have all hoped. At the beginning of the season, I said that I wasn’t going to be satisfied with however they resolved this situation – if they were going to part with Machado, they missed their opportunity to make it a franchise-changing moment.
So alas, here we are.
There were rumors throughout the day of who would and would not be included in the package coming back for Machado. Here is what the Orioles got:
