Even not realizing it was a not traumatic until you start processing your birth story. Zoe is also an eating disorder survivor and was diagnosed with Bipolar in her younger years. As a Labor and Delivery nurse, Nicolette knew things could go wrong during delivery, but was plagued by a nagging feeling that she was going to die in labor. She arrived into her room, which her coworkers beautifully decorated, she told her OB her explicit wishes, and settled with her fiance and sister. Today Katie and I are honoring AFE Awareness Day with heavy hearts. Katie lost her childhood best friend to AFE; Just over 1 month prior to mine. Through the last 3+ years I have heard Ali’s name on a number of occasions and always felt a connection to her beautiful smile. I can’t help but wonder if Ali survived, would she launch a fundraiser in honor of AFE Awareness Day, organize a blood drive, or share her and her daughter’s story on their anniversary. Thankfully her family and friend’s, like Katie, have done all of the aforementioned in her honor. To keep her memory alive.

Today we are joined by Rebekah Cook. In 2021 Bekah became pregnant with her second pregnancy. By November, she and her husband became ill with Covid, Whooping Cough, and Pneumonia. All at the same time! One night when her husband was particularly under the weather she ran to the store to buy supplies. She cared for her husband then settled for the night. Laura Fletcher is just an outstanding, astonishing woman. I feel like everyone needs to know her! After a premature rupture of membranes, her first daughter was born at 35 weeks. She would go on to endure 10 years of secondary infertility, 4 miscarriages, and an obscene amount of medical gaslighting. After those miscarriages, she found a Reproductive Immunologist in New York. This doctor was an angel on Earth. Not only did he actually listen to his patient, he uncovered Laura’s autoimmune disorders, treated her silent endometriosis, and with the help of several other doctors Laura was able to stay pregnant and give birth in 2020.
