This conversation definitely went into an unexpected place. But a very necessary one that we haven’t yet addressed on this series! Michelle and I end up talking quite openly about the conversations and agreements we have with our spouses that help us make our lives as mompreneurs work! Michelle Evans is a marketing strategist who helps coaches and influencers attract their perfect target market by creating specific offerings that allow further, targeted conversations to happen in a phrase, she helps people with create and optimize marketing funnels. She has three kids, ranging from 14 years old to 5 years old and during this conversation, we talk about what it was like to start her business when her youngest was just 8 weeks old (she has a really powerful story about why she decided to do that!), how her business has evolved and most importantly, how she has evolved so she can create a LIFE that she loves...all because she chooses to GET CLEAR on what she really wants and how she can make it happen. Michelle shares very openly about the conversations she and her husband have and the structure they create in their lives in order to ensure that she can live vibrantly in her business and in her life as a mom!

I think I officially fell in love with Carissa Hill during this interview. I had the pleasure of meeting Carissa at Podfest Multimedia Expo in February 2017 and I immediately knew that I had to know her and bring her to you. Carissa is a genius at using Facebook to significantly grow your business and she teaches her results-driven strategies to clients and students all around the world through her courses. And we’re not talking a small potatoes business here...she replaced her husband’s annual salary in one week during a course launch. Yeah. Super cool, right?
At the time of this interview, Carissa is the mom of 6 month old Jayden and the reason why I’m so excited for you to listen to our conversation is because she has absolutely refused to believe that she needs to put her business on the back burner in order to be with her son. She embodies the mindset that she CAN have a thriving, super profitable business AND spend tons of time with her son. Yes, she talks about how she manages her time. And yes, she talks about how to best delegate so you can get more done (she actually has a few really impressive tips on how to do this!). But ultimately, the big takeaway from this episode is how to manifest the business life and mom life of your dreams and developing the MINDSET that makes it all possible!

You may initially think Cheslie Lamie, Personal Injury Attorney was crazy for opening up her private practice when her youngest son was just 6 months old and her older son was a toddler. But after listening to this podcast episode, you’ll understand that she is actually quite brilliant. As the sole income provider for her family of four, she definitely had a lot of fear, but ended her first year in business very successfully! During our interview, Chelsie shares what encouraged her to jump out on her own (with encouraging words from her grandfather), her belief in delegating as much as you can as your budget allows (she shares her favorite tool for outsourcing her grocery shopping!) and what what she does when she’s having a rough day. We also talk in depth about the baby friendly office she created Monday, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. During those days, her company provides in-office daycare for her kids, the kids of her team members and the kids of her clients...amazing idea, right?! She gives some great tools on how to make that a success and ultimately how to make your life as a mom and your life as a business woman work!

I think I subconsciously created this Mompreneur Series because of Maria Dismondy. She’s been a dear friend of mine ever since we were in a mastermind together in 2015. We’re currently accountability partners, so I have the advantage of having an intimate view of how Maria manages her business and her kids and I always stand in awe. Of course she has tough times, times when things don’t go according to plan - which we definitely discuss in this interview - but she has created an incredible mompreneur life that I greatly respect! Maria is a children’s book author, having written 8 books that teach kids character and she’s also owns Cardinal Rule Press, her publishing company. She speaks to schools both live and in person and overall, runs an incredibly impressive empire “part time” and from her house!
Maria is the mother of 3 kids, Ruby, Leah and Dexter and during this incredible conversation, Maria shares incredible tips on how she manages her time so she can be a full time mom (read: does not have regular childcare) and grow her business in the mornings, during nap times and at night! Because I know Maria to be a super creative person with a teaching background, she also shares AMAZING ideas on how to plan the time she spends with her kids! She shares about how she has a “Crafts Closet,” full of goodies that she can take out and use on a whim, how she relies heavily on Pinterest to come up with ideas on fun projects to do and, after the interview, Maria shared with me that she creates seasonal bucket lists with her kids so she doesn’t get into a run or ever run out of fun things to do! This interview is full of great strategies and ideas on how to get the most out of your mompreneur journey!
Here’s a pic of her Crafts Closet :)

When I reached out to Kirsten to feature her on this Mompreneur Series, I joked with her that the title of her episode would be Five F*&#^@g Kids and a Business! Now, obviously, I changed the title to be a bit more appropriate, but that’s pretty much what we’re discussing in this interview. Kirsten Oliphant is the owner of Create If Writing, a podcast and business that provides education and resources to writers, bloggers and entrepreneurs who want to build their online following and make money through their writing. During our conversation, Kirsten shares about how her business now looks very different than what it did when she had her first kid and ultimately how her business evolved because of her growing family. She then gives incredible, practical advice - hacks on how to best manage your time so you’re the best mom and entrepreneur you can be! From how to organize your schedule to local resources you can take advantage of! And ultimately, we discuss finding your own place of peace in the ever-moving “mompreneur equation” we must all manage! Kirsten is a wealth of information and gives great advice for how to do it all (and be okay with the fact that it’s all a mess too!). She may have convinced me to go for five kids… ;)

I had the pleasure of meeting Lizz Torgovnick when she became a coaching client of mine in the summer of 2016. She was just stepping back into her company after giving birth to her first baby, Rosie. Lizz and her two partners own Sequence Events, an events productions company that specializes in creating memorable experiences for their clients through amazing events. As the Chief Creative Officer and Founder, Lizz found herself confused about how to show up to her company as her best self, no longer wanting - or able - to work around the clock in the way she had been used to! In this incredible conversation, Lizz shares how she best prepared to go on maternity leave and set up her team for success without her in the picture (delegation mastery!) and a few of the biggest challenges she had coming back into the business after maternity leave. She candidly shares about how her biggest ah-ha was taking ownership of her schedule so she could optimize her time and be the best mother and entrepreneur she could be! And finally, we talk about baby #2. ;)

Top Strategies That Make My Life as a Mompreneur Work: A Special Kickoff to the Mompreneur Series
This is a special solo episode where I get to officially kick off the Mompreneur Series! I do this by sharing with you a bit about my journey as a mompreneur and mostly the strategies and tricks I use to make my life as an entrepreneur and mom work!
When I was 27, I read the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. That was the first time I was introduced to the idea of Financial Freedom. This idea that I could be the master of my money and create money that could come to me on a recurring basis every month that would take the need to work out of the equation...how I could get out of the rat race. It blew my mind and ever since, I've been a bit obsessed with Financial Freedom and my money education.
That's why I'm featuring my good friend, Maree Walden Mac Guiness today. Because she is a real life business woman who actually HAS ATTAINED financial freedom. And in this episode, she shares with you some of her best tips, tricks, rules and strategies for how she's done it.
As a member of the Biz Women Rock community, she gives you this totally FREE money allocation tool, that will also give you access to a "pop-up" Facebook Group where she'll be available to answer all your questions about money, financial freedom, planning, etc.
You can access all of it here: http://TheBusinessOfMoney.com/bwr
And BONUS! Maree is doing a LIVE workshop in Tampa, Florida on April 8th & 9th and she goes through all the great education you can expect to learn there (I'll be there!). You can learn more about her workshop here: http://TheBusinessOfMoney.com/tampa
