Welcome back to BizQuik! In today’s episode Julie is weighing in on what it’s like to be in the Messy Middle of business ownership. It’s hard. It’s frustrating, and it’s filled with challenges and a never ending list of tasks to complete.
Entrepreneurs love to talk about launching a new business, and they are even more excited to tell you about how successful they are, but few actually sit down and talk about what it’s like to work through the Messy Middle. All the things that happen in between starting and success. When you feel like you’re always working, yet you’re not doing enough. When you are losing confidence, you’re tired, and you can’t decide if you’re even cut out to be an entrepreneur.
Julie has some tips to help ease the frustration and make progress towards the other side of the Messy Middle.

Welcome back to BizQuik! We are so happy to have you join the show today. In the latest episode Julie talks about how you probably sucked when you started your business, and that’s okay.
Few people know that the first day Disneyland opened, they were a complete and total sh*t show. In some ways, literally, as the plumbing didn’t work in the park, so people were going to the bathroom wherever they felt like it. Julie shares this fascinating story along with talking about how embracing how much you suck when you start can work to your advantage.
Find out how on today’s episode.

Welcome back to BizQuik! In today’s episode of BizQuiker Julie talks about the importance of being able to make adjustments. Adjustments in business, in life, in perspective. All too often the Type A overachieving entrepreneurs that far too many of us tend to look at failure as being final. It’s not.
Failure should be looked at as a teacher. A tool to identify adjustments. A method to re-focus, re-set, re-start, and re-adjust. Failure is a friend if we invite it into our lives and learn from it instead of feeling shame and embarrassment when it happens.
Julie had a “failure” this past weekend, but she realized that failure was a tool she could use to leapfrog her progress. How did she do that? Tune in to find out.

Welcome back to BizQuik! In today’s episode of BizQuikie Julie talks about feedback, and how valuable asking for feedback can be. Especially if you’re willing to listen, use that feedback as a tool to improve, and set your feelings aside.
Too frequently people ask for feedback because they are looking for co-signers, not because they legitimately want feedback to make adjustments and improvements. Julie illustrates her point by telling the story of a new service she is launching and how she sought feedback from people who could not say yes to the offer.

Welcome back to BizQuik! In today’s episode of BizQuikie Julie dives into resistance. It’s something we all deal with. It’s present in every human being. If you have a heart or have a brain, you’re dealing with resistance at some level. Why does resistance show up? How can we leverage it to our advantage? Is resistance a signal to ourselves that we need to quit?
Resistance isn’t special to entrepreneurs or athletes, it shows up everywhere. Sometimes we call it procrastination, other times we call it fear. Regardless of what title you give it, what matters most is how you stack your toolbox to overcome it.
