  • Let's Talk Ball: A Bills Coaching Clinic

News 8 sports director Thad Brown and sports reporter Carl Jones break down the All-22 film of the Bills convincing 48-20 win over the Dolphins.

The Bills defense held the Dolphins to their lowest scoring output of the season. The back seven did a great job of restricting the space down the field and forced Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to come off his first read multiple times.

Despite the Dolphins success on their first two drives of the game, the Bills defense figured out ways to frustrate the opposing offense. Thad and Carl dissect a few plays where Sean McDermott's unit set the foundation for the rest of the game.

On the offensive side of the ball, Ken Dorsey had another great game plan to attack the Dolphins defense in both the run and pass. Thad and Carl break down the otherworldly performances of both Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs.

Also, the Bills had several explosive plays from under center while in 12 personnel. The duo debate whether if the success was circumstantial to just one game or if that is a viable pathway to chunk plays for the Bills going forward.

  • Let's Talk Ball: Talking Bills domination and Dolphins

News 8 sports director Thad Brown and sports reporter Carl Jones break down the All-22 film of the Bills dominant 37-3 win over the Commanders.

For the second game in a row, Bills offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey had a great game plan to help out the offensive line and Josh Allen. The Bills ran several plays with misdirection and "eye candy" that forced the Commanders defensive line to think instead of attack.

The duo break down the in's and out's of the Allen's 35-yard touchdown pass to Gabe Davis. The shot play came at an ideal time to attack the Washington defense.

Also, Thad mentions a statistic surrounding Dalton Kincaid's playing time that may indicate on if the Bills trust him as a blocker in the run game.

On the defensive side of the ball, the pair discuss the superb play of Ed Oliver and DaQuan Jones for the second consecutive week. The two defensive tackles were huge factors in both the run and pass game.

In addition, Thad and Carl talk about some of the highlight plays from the defense including Micah Hyde's interception.

Protection was an issue, now more a concern with Tommy Doyle out for the season. The Bills may have found answer at middle linebacker, just not how they hoped. There's something to watch with one of the stars at safety. The bright spots from the game come from the top of this year's draft.

  • August 15th: Tempers flare in Orchard Park

The Bills returned to practice on Tuesday after a day off and the team was heated. Tyrel Dodson and Spencer Brown were in the middle of a fight that led to some strong words from Josh Allen. Stefon Diggs and Siran Neal also had plenty of things to say to each other throughout practice.

  • Torrence starts strong, backup QB remains a worry after win vs. Colts

The Bills opened their preseason with a 23-19 win over the Colts, but wins and losses don't matter much for exhibition games.

What does matter is how individual players with presumed regular season impact fare. Rookies were very much on the good side. O'Cyrus Torrence made an excellent debut in a full half at right guard. Dalton Kincaid was not targeted, but he did help make James Cook more of a threat (Cook was cooking himself).

On the flip side, Kyle Allen did little to dissuade the doubts that arose at training camp. Thad Brown and AJ Feldman can explain why Bills fans should not be concerned (just yet). They also discuss a giant message being sent in the battle for the second starting corner spot and an impressive return for Damar Hamlin. It's the 2023 season debut of Buffalo Gameday Recap.
