The official story was suicide. Twenty-two years later, the agency admitted he'd been secretly dosed with LSD. In 1994, his son had his body exhumed — and a forensic pathologist from George Washington University found a hematoma on his forehead consistent with blunt-force trauma before the fall.

Memorial Day special: 92 year old U.S. Marine Corps Colonel Elaine Davies. Davies was one of less than forty TOTAL women to deploy to Vietnam with the Marine Corps. Davies spent over 29 years in the Corps, originally joining in 1959. The fact that less than 40 women in the Marines ever deployed to Vietnam is extraordinary, the fact the we were able to interview one of them? An absolute privilege.

Memorial Day special: B.A.R. interviews 92 year old retired U.S. Marine Crops Colonel Elaine Davies. Davies was one of under forty TOTAL women to deploy to Vietnam as a Marine. Davies served in the Corps for over twenty-nine years, starting her service in 1959, and deploying to Vietnam in 1969 for a thirteen month rotation. A deployment she volunteered to take. For reference, 2.7 million Americans served in the Vietnam War, making her experience as a female Marine absolutely extraordinary. Clearly, putting her in rarified air.

This is episode #1 of our focus on American bio-weapons, which have been primarily used, and tested on American citizens. For FORTY years, the U.S. government tested and experimented on African American males with syphilis, gonorrhea, and chancroid. Without ever telling them that they were in an experiment, without ever providing adequate medical care, and without ever telling the men what they were infected with, or that it could have been cured.
