Another episode that is much like the episodes before. The name comes from a few times I stopped talking for a minute or two, leaving only environmental noises, which included the brushing of teeth and the vaping of nicotine.
I recorded this yesterday morning. Don’t remember much about it anymore. Just another standard ‘going through my morning Do Deck cards and starting my day’ episode, I think.
A standard ‘navigating my morning as a multiply neurodivergent person, using the tools/systems I’ve put in place to help me get shit done’ episode. Yes, it’s the first of April. No, I don’t play April Fools tricks.
Just another day of me, talking at my hypothetical future audience, while starting my day, looking at my Do Deck cards, and getting my brain operating at an acceptable level of awareness.
Half the typical episode length!
Another of my ‘walking around and figuring out what to do with myself’ podcast episodes. There was some experimentation with a new microphone and an audio processing app earlier today, discussed toward the middle or end of the episode, that did not lead to any changes in the (abysmally low) production quality of my podcast.
A double-length episode! Of me… rambling into a bluetooth earpiece.
After a brief and unwanted hiatus that I can blame on nothing but my own brain, I’m posting episodes again.
These podcast episodes are primarily for myself. What you hear is what you get.
The episode begins with me explaining how a headlamp can help me maintain focus, before quickly devolving to a severe struggle to maintain focus, then segues into the standard day planning.
Then I got distracted, and it took another day to upload and publish.
Unlike most episodes, this one is not me starting my day, planning things, or getting things done.
This time, I describe some of the things and systems I use to help me start my day, plan things, and get things done.
Our household has plenty of executive functioning struggles. Listen as I talk about some of the ways we deal with that.
.
This is an unscripted, unfocused, unedited, unmonetized podcast with the production quality of something that has zero production quality. Enjoy.
Needed to go from scattered to focused, so I recorded this minisode of getting myself ready to run errands. Also discussed body doubling and rubber ducking in the last few minutes.
An attempt to start my day. Pre-recording, I assembled my Do Deck hand for the day. This episode is an hour of me wandering around the house, getting some things done, and trying to find the five-foot long wooden staff that I misplaced in the house earlier in the recording.
Seriously. A five or five-and-a-half foot long wooden hardwood staff. Had it in my hands. Walked into another room. Had to search the house multiple times, finally giving up in the last minutes of the recording, only to find it exactly where I left it.

Greetings and welcome. I'm InMyOwnWorld, a white, queer, multiply neurodivergent, multiply disabled, middle-aged she/her and they/them non-binary…
One of the ways I cope is to talk to an imaginary audience. And, as long as I'm talking, I figured I may as well see if anyone wants to listen.
Originally conceived of as videos with my voice and a completely black screen, Black Box Recordings has become a podcast instead. An ad-free podcast consisting of disjointed ramblings, posted according to no schedule whatsoever..
Why a podcast of me rambling about whatever crosses my mind, whenever I want?
Because it will make me feel a little more connected to other people, whether or not it creates any connections. It's a placebo, to make talking to myself feel a little more productive. It's a scream into the void. It's turning the void into an ADHD body double.
I'll be putting my bluetooth earpiece in, opening up the Voice Recorder app, and pacing around the house while talking to you, my potential future audience. You'll get whatever's on my mind, for however long my brain can maintain focus on it.
Enjoy.
.
P.S.
Please accept my extremely flimsy apologies for the audio quality. I'm not spending any money or additional effort on this, and I kinda like the way it sounds like a phone call. It's free. What you get is what you get.

Want to tell me that I've made your life better in some way? Reviews and whatnot are nice and all, but I probably won't see them. You can get in touch with me, personally, at the following email address: InMyOwnWorldsEmail (not case sensitive, so you can type it however you like, as long as those are the letters used and the order in which they are used) followed by the 'at' symbol, then your basic gmail ending. Once again, that's InMyOwnWorldsEmail at gmail dot com.
