A half-hour episode of me trying to get my mind off Wordpress customization and on the day ahead.
Basically, decompressing after many hours of hyperfocus yesterday, and trying to prevent it from happening again today… at least until I’ve got the important things taken care of for the day.
Also some cat meows near the beginning.
Mostly a rambling monologue on some of the objects and methods I use to accommodate my neurodivergences and physical disabilities.
Unlike my typical podcasts, where I’m trying to get things done or start my day, this was recorded to pass an hour of time, and was more relaxing than ranting about the state of the world for an hour.
The person who calls me on a schedule and listens as I think out loud and reminds me of things I’d said previously is too sick to do that today, so I thought out loud into a podcast instead.
Mostly just me going through a checklist of things and spending some time thinking about and/or doing them.
I used to have someone call me three times a week to be an extra brain while I thought and planned and tasked, but switched to twice a week a while back.
The cards I use to remind me of things include my ‘call cards’ with the checklist to go through during each call.
When I dropped down to two calls per week, I turned one of the call cards into a no-call card, so I could try to coax myself through the checklist without help once a week.
That’s the majority of this episode—me, working my way through my no-call card checklist.
It’s the first day of the new year, according to the Gregorian calendar, and I wanted to record an episode. Except I didn’t have the energy to talk for a full hour. So you get this minisode.
I’m less eloquent and more unfocused than typical, and there was very little useful that was actually said, but I did make food for myself and got started on some stuff in the kitchen.
Enjoy.
Today is the 48th anniversary of my birth, according to the Gregorian calendar.
This episode is similar other recent episodes, with me talking about everything and nothing, while babbling more-or-less non-stop, being a little productive around the house, and making sure that I'm prepared to move forward with my day.
A morning in the kitchen, bumbling around and getting a few things done, while narrating what I’m doing and going off onto tangents.
Me, starting my day, and trying (with occasional success) to focus on getting ready for my day (which includes figuring out what that entails).
I accidentally named a person I was trying to leave unidentified, so I did have to make one edit, covering up my oopsie.
I apologize. I promised an unedited podcast, and I’ve already broken my word to you by the fourth episode. And I’ll do it again, too, the next time I accidentally drop a name that shouldn’t have been dropped.
Join me, InMyOwnWorld, as I think about the day ahead and try to make some plans for it.

The second episode of Black Box Recordings, by InMyOwnWorld.
Unscripted. Unedited. Unfocused. Unmonetized.
At the time of recording, I wasn’t sure if this would replace the original pilot or become the second episode. Either episode works, if you want an introduction to the podcast, but neither stood out to me as spectacular. So, I guess you get two mediocre pilot episodes.
Recorded on November 27, 2025.

Greetings and welcome. I'm InMyOwnWorld, a white, queer, multiply neurodivergent, multiply disabled, middle-aged she/her and they/them non-binary…
One of the ways I cope is to talk to an imaginary audience. And, as long as I'm talking, I figured I may as well see if anyone wants to listen.
Originally conceived of as videos with my voice and a completely black screen, Black Box Recordings has become a podcast instead. An ad-free podcast consisting of disjointed ramblings, posted according to no schedule whatsoever..
Why a podcast of me rambling about whatever crosses my mind, whenever I want?
Because it will make me feel a little more connected to other people, whether or not it creates any connections. It's a placebo, to make talking to myself feel a little more productive. It's a scream into the void. It's turning the void into an ADHD body double.
I'll be putting my bluetooth earpiece in, opening up the Voice Recorder app, and pacing around the house while talking to you, my potential future audience. You'll get whatever's on my mind, for however long my brain can maintain focus on it.
Enjoy.

P.S.
Please accept my extremely flimsy apologies for the audio quality. I'm not spending any money or additional effort on this, and I kinda like the way it sounds like a phone call. It's free. What you get is what you get.

Want to tell me that I've made your life better in some way? Reviews and whatnot are nice and all, but I probably won't see them. You can get in touch with me, personally, at the following email address: InMyOwnWorldsEmail (not case sensitive, so you can type it however you like, as long as those are the letters used and the order in which they are used) followed by the 'at' symbol, then your basic gmail ending. Once again, that's InMyOwnWorldsEmail at gmail dot com.
