Thankfully, the league fixtures are done and dusted with as the lads fell to their 5th defeat in a row at the hands of QPR in the last league game of the season.

Attention now turns to the playoff semi final in which we will play Coventry City starting with an away leg at the CBS stadium on Friday the 9th of May with the home leg on Tuesday the 13th of May.

The lads fell to a 2-1 defeat to Bristol City yesterday, though manly in part to a terrible decision to send Trai Hume off with only 7 minutes on the clock.

Eliezer Mayenda put us in the lead with a fantastic solo effort from the edge of his own box. However, we weren't able to cope being a man down and sadly Bristol City got 2 goals to get the 3 points.

Joining Lee in Bilbao were 2 guests from other places beginning with B. Paul Clark in Barcelona and Chris Todbury in Brisbane.

It was a bittersweet weekend for Sunderland AFC as we lost 0-1 to Swansea while on the other hand International Fans Day was celebrated with dozens of fans from all over the world gathering on Wearside for the weekend.

Rob and Lee Thirkell from the Bilbao Black Cats chatted about Sunderland AFC's influence on clubs and countries around the world, matches against european teams, Diego Maradona, Rob's favourite foreign managers and our all time Sunderland 11 consisting of players outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
