Discourse on Colonialism, an essay published in Paris in 1950, by Aime Cesaire detailing the effects, misguidance, consequences, history, and hypocrisy of European colonialism. This milestone piece ends with a very important note: a warning to the reader of the upcoming colonial power that is America. Reading this with the hindsight of 2020, pay attention to the language that is used by the several European philosophers to justify and defend colonialism. Think of the similarities between what they are saying and the language that American media uses when discussing the Iraq War, Syria, "the starving children in Africa", Afghanistan, Arab Spring, etc (see: white man's burden, voluntourism, white savior complex). The essay was originally published in French then translated so there's lots of words that cannot be translated so I apologize for the mispronunciation. The version I read did not include the foreword and I had to log into it through my institution so I cannot link it but the version I am linking includes the foreword. Listen to Malcolm X's Legendary Speech: "The Ballot or the Bullet" (Detroit, April 12, 1964) On April 12, 1964, one month after splitting with the NOI, Malcolm X gave his "Ballot or the Bullet" speech at King Solomon Baptist Church in Detroit. In the speech Malcolm X described how Blacks should fight for civil-rights in America. Malcolm X emphasizes the worth of voting as a solution to ending discrimination against Blacks. He addresses both the poor voting decisions and also the denial of legitimate voting rights to Blacks.

The Revolutionary Internationalist Movement (RIM) was a group of anti-revisionist Marxist-Leninist parties and organizations which came together in the "struggle for the formation of a Communist International of a new type," and would be instrumental in laying the foundations for Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, considered to be a new stage in revolutionary science distinct from Marxism-Leninism-Mao Zedong Thought. In the Declaration of the Revolutionary Internationalist Movement, the RIM lays out the principal concerns for the International Communist Movement in the light of the unique conditions of the time, including the abandonment of socialist construction not only in the USSR, but in China after Mao's death as well, the failures and errors of the ICM in the revolutionary waves of the 60s and 70s, and the shifts in the character of capital and socio-economic organization which would come to be widely known as neoliberalism. The RIM revindicates some key Leninist positions abandoned by communist parties, especially in the imperial core, highlights both the errors and successes of the Chinese experience, and sets the broad course of the ICM in the coming years.
