This podcast is the fourth of a series of Black History Month Reflections with local black and brown professionals in and around Tacoma. We're bringing conversations that we often have in private, out in the public. Be a fly on the wall as Dave chats with these great individuals as we wrap up Black History Month 2021.
Logic Amen is a poet, educator, and content creator. As an assistant principal at a local high school and scholar on black issues, he provides interesting insight on how policing and education intersect. In this conversation he provides context and history behind policing, and makes connections to how education is the springboard, otherwise known as the 'prison to school pipeline.'
Dave and Logic also go back and forth on whether schools should have SROs in the building.
