Black Sensei Society

Santo, Myles, and the crew are back for another Open Dojo! This week we're breaking down one of the most insane anime episodes of 2026 — Maki's complete demolition of the Zenin Clan in Jujutsu Kaisen. Was it a 10/10? We debate the animation quality, the Kill Bill vibes, and whether this tops everything we've seen this year.

But first, we settle the score on the Random vs. Lani debate: Is Apothecary Diaries underappreciated? We dig into why romance anime struggles to break through with casual fans, even when Crunchyroll is pushing it hard. Plus, we put some respect on Uma Musume (Pretty Derby) — trust us, it hits different.

The football talk gets a little out of hand (Miami vs. Indiana, Notre Dame slander, the Mendoza brothers), but we always bring it back to the anime.

Topics Covered:

• JJK Maki vs. Zenin Clan episode breakdown
• Apothecary Diaries: Underrated or properly appreciated?
• Why romance anime doesn't move numbers
• Uma Musume recommendation
• College Football Playoff chaos

The Black Sensei Society crew is back with Episode 112, kicking off our new monthly guest appearance series! This week, we welcome Bama and returning guest Moon Peaches Taylor for one of our most heated anime debates yet.

Random pulls up with a legendary 46-page slideshow presentation breaking down the numbers, rankings, and receipts—but was the whole debate just an elaborate troll? Find out as the crew goes back and forth on one of the most popular anime in Japan right now.

We also dive into whether Ordeal will shake up the anime industry, share our thoughts on the latest Game of Thrones hate watch, and Miles puts us on to the Fate/Strange Fake light novel. Plus, we address the Bleach hater allegations and announce next week's Bleach appreciation episode.
