Dr. Melvin tells Dr. Theo and Dr. Jaqui about his journey from being forced out of high school after being on track to be the salutatorian to completing his Ph.D. He then explains his philosophy on mentorship and how he counsels the community to “be in position to be in position.”

Dr. Theo and Dr. Jaqui chat with Ashley Munson whose work as a lobbyist and community activist has put her at the forefront of big issues— from environmental policy to food insecurity legislation.  Most important to her work, is Ashley’s desire for the Black community and POC to understand their vital role in community advocacy and change.

Dr. Theo and Dr. Jaqui talk with Tramaine Austin-Dillon about all the pit stops on his journey from South Central Los Angeles to being a Programs and Policy Specialist in the Office of the President at Sonoma State University. He explains ways he has used his voice as he’s ascended in his career. He also talks about his role in helping to advance institutional priorities.
