Black Sun Dispatches

Welcome to the city beneath the black sun. Lost in a dark world, surrounded by an endless desert filled with countless threats, the citizens still standing are forced to make a life for themselves in a strange and hostile land where terror and wonder wait behind every corner.

Within the city beneath the black sun, there is one person with as many secrets as the city itself. Her name is Cassandra, and she has long patrolled the city armed with a sickle blade and wearing her red hood. She has become a figure of both adulation and consternation for those people and forces within the city, lending help to the hopeless and mocking those emissaries of the man McRae who seek for some unknown reason.

But Cassandra is missing. A mission went wrong and she has vanished into the shadows.

Now, at last, we will learn just not only where Cassandra went, but where she came from...and what kind of horrors may lay in wait for her and the city entire.

Once winter sets its teeth in, the days grow shorter but time draws longer, so that spring and warmth and life seem like distant things.

For one cursed crew in the city beneath the black sun, there's something else loose in the cold. Something inhuman, something hungry, and something that will not rest until it has wrapped them all in its frozen embrace, one by one.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd...we're back!

2018 begins with this twisted little number, the story of a woman who desperately wanted nothing more than to be alone, only to find that solitude, once achieved, was nothing like what she bargained for.

Her name is Veronica Cleary.

And one day, for no apparent reason, she sprang a leak. And what she lost...well, there's just no replacement for.

If you've been with before now, you maybe remember a pair of fellows who tend to skulk around the edges of major happenings in the city beneath the black sun. Mr. Oaks and Mr. Mayhew are their names; one large and loud, and the other small and mostly silent. Mr. Oaks keeps the hospital running, while Mr. Mayhew keeps tabs on the strange beings that seem to grow so quick and so wild.

It seems the time has come to give these two their own spotlight. As the cold comes calling, as the snow starts falling, our fellows head out into the night in the hopes of speaking with a newly-minted deity to learn what secrets they can glean.

But there are stranger truths awaiting them, truths that shatter everything either man thought they knew about their world, and their lives.

Stories can cause so much trouble.

On an unassuming street lies an unassuming house inside of which is unassuming man; what he can't know, is that the word is out that the place is haunted.

And against this onslaught of rumor and terror...a man can only last so.

Halloween is all made up of stories, and even in the city beneath the black sun, where terror is as plentiful as oxygen, the denizens are sure to mark the season with ghoulish tales.

Priya Patel has a ghost story that she's known all her life, a story that somehow bridges her past to this strange new world which she inhabits. It's a story both familiar, yet unlike anything else you have ever heard.

Halloween was long thought of as a time when the walls between worlds were thin, a time when the dead and the damned might return to our mortal realm and play their macabre games. Sometimes they desired only harmless pranks, but other times it was a bloodsport they played.

In the city beneath the black sun, the dead and the damned are always only one step away. And as Halloween nears, new games will be played with the hapless humans trapped in this strange dark land. Not all who play will live.
