The Context of White Supremacy hosts the 4th study session on Randall Sullivan's LAbyrinth : A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B. I. G., the Implications of Death Row Records' Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal. Sullivan is an actor, journalist, producer, screenwriter, and author who's hosted a television program on Oprah Winfrey's network and written reports for The Washington Post and Rolling Stone. And, he's a White man. Way back when The C.O.W.S. was in middle of reading Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life, Gus said that a master class on the Simpson trial would examine that case in context with the beating of Rodney King and the subsequent trial and rioting, the LAPD Rampart scandal, and the assassinations of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. The book club just concluded Geronimo Pratt's biography, which examines how the very same LAPD and Los Angeles district attorney's office conspired to keep an innocent black male caged for 25 years - where he could have easily been killed. Importantly, the former Black Panther and COINTELPRO victim Pratt was Shakur's godparent. Last week, Sullivan provided readers with his version of Shakur and Wallace's short lives and rap careers. When describing Shakur's godfather, Pratt, Sullivan omitted mention of Pratt's release from prison or how the FBI and LAPD seemed to coordinate their COINTELPRO targeting of him. The Black Misandry overflowed, as Sullivan cites rumors of Shakur being anally raped in prison and losing a testicle during his 1994 shooting in New York. Sullivan describes Shakur as being a nerdy young child, far from authentic gangster, who was bullied for being effeminate. When recounting a 1993 assassination attempt in Atlanta, Sullivan describes the off-duty White police officers who shot at Shakur using a stolen police firearm as drunken "yahoos."

By Scotty Reid - It has been one year since protests against the “Confederate Heroes Monument” were ignited by the murder of George Floyd by a former police officer named Derek Chauvin. On July 4th, 2020, a national holiday that celebrates the independence of American colonists from the British Crown leading to the founding of the United States, that a racially diverse group of Gaston County activists staged dramatic readings of speeches against slavery by past abolitionists, black and white, at the county courthouse under the specter of a Confederate monument.

The intent of the organizers, an informal group called the East Gaston Coalition for Freedom and Justice was to highlight the hypocrisy of celebrating “freedom” while depriving people of their freedoms based solely on their skin color and origins. The event was used to teach attendants that the 13th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution technically did not end slavery but merely created a new form called prison slavery and how laws were passed collectively known as the Black Codes in the South in order for the former Confederate states to re-enslave former victims of plantation slavery and their descendants by way of “Convict Leasing” a prison practice that continues to this day. Currently, there is a Congressional resolution to remove the slavery loophole in the 13th Amendment called the "Abolition Amendment".

Unbeknown to the organizers of the July 4. 2020 protest/teach-in, we were engaging in what today would be labeled Critical Race Theory, which is a niche field of academia where a small group of legal scholars and thinkers analyze the intersection of race and law.

Critical Race Theory has been around since the 1970s and became a movement started by a small group of U.S legal scholars but in the year 2021, after all these decades, censoring this research has become a cause for dishonest politicians and their followers.

Considering all the arguments being made by conservative politicians and those who repeat the false narratives used to censor an area of academic research, it is important to sort out the facts.

According to scholars that study Critical Race Theory, it describes the diverse work of a small group of scholars who write about the shortcomings of conventional civil rights liberal approaches in addressing systemic racism in the United States. Critical Race Theory pushes back on the liberal argument that promoting “color blindness” is all that is needed to push the nation forward towards a more equitable society for all. Interestingly some of those attacking the field of study who are not liberals, in their arguments are claiming they don’t see color as they absurdly claim that CRT teaches black people to hate and physically attack their white neighbors.

The public has been gaslighted into believing that CRT is part of the K-12 school curriculum when in fact is a voluntary course offered by just a few universities. The controversy is wholly manufactured by those that want to distract from real issues plaguing the masses of people in the United States, including the issue of prison slavery affecting all people, no matter their race, sex, gender, or national origin.

Despite the ban on Confederate monuments in North Carolina by the state’s constitution, a Republican legislature pushed through a state law banning the removal of Confederate monuments and signed into law by a Republican governor in 2015, an occurrence that is a perfect candidate for CRT study. While conservatives seek to ban CRT, it should be noted that they more than embrace the “Lost Cause” mythology that seeks to revise the history of the main cause of the Civil War, the perceived abolishment of slavery with the election of Abraham Lincoln.

Dave Chappelle, a comedic genius who tackles tough topics through comedy while making salient points about society in general, a few years back talked about the concept of transracial as it compares to being transgendered and how the concept is utterly confusing. Now we have a so-called influencer in the UK, a white male claiming a Korean identity after having surgery to make themselves, yes they also identify as "they" and "them", look Asian.

Now the defenders of transgender identities are saying that you can not compare transracial to transgenderism, again, very confusing.

Now more and more people, including some who identify as transgender are pushing back against forcing females to compete with biological males who identify as women and girls in sports because of the scientifically proven physical advantage.

It's all very confusing and defies logic.

U.S. Rep Mike Gallagher, a suspected racist representing a Wisconsin district led a group of U.S. House members who issued a hypocritical resolution on China's human rights record over the past 100 years. Gallagher is also a Republican engaging in academic repression in the United States concerning Critical Race Theory.

Today is the birthday of Tommy Kono, a victim of racism in the United States who went on to win a gold medal for Team USA and how his story is related to the study of the intersection of race and law (Critical Race Theory) in the United States.

Spring 2021 concluded with a heap of White Supremacist tomfoolery as President Joe Biden and other Suspected Racists announced Juneteenth as an officially White-recognized holiday. Tears and watermelon flowed. In Canada, a White man faces terrorism charges for his cowardly attack on a non-white, Muslim family which killed 4 people. In St. Louis, one White officer, Dustin Boone, was convicted for beating an undercover black police officer during 2017 protests. Boone's partner in the alleged beating, Christopher Myers, received a hung jury.

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. After many exorbitant, corporate festivities for the first White-recognized edition of Juneteenth, summer 2021 began with black University of Washington enforcement officers filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit charging "unbearable racism" against the institution. Officers allege that fellow White officers made racist jokes about watermelon and Popeye's fried chicken. Again, counter-racism in the workplace is about expecting these types of Racist remarks and having logical responses that don't cause problems.
