The Context of White Supremacy welcomes Joseph D. Feaster Jr. With nearly a half century of law practice, Mr. Feaster is currently the court-appointed Receiver for Roxbury Comprehensive Community Health Center. Feaster is also President of Feaster Enterprises, a strategic planning, organizational development, and community outreach consulting firm. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Feaster is an attempted father. He considers it his cosmic assignment to address the issue of mental health with black parents. Tragically, his son committed suicide before the age of 30. We'll discuss tips for being mindful about changes in mood or signs of depression in young people. The Covid-19 shutdown has wreaked havoc around the world, and children's academic schedules, daily routines, and general expectations have been decimated for more than a year. Additionally, black boys and girls have been deluged with images of black victims of terrorism. We'll discuss strategies for nourishing the health and well being of black youth.

It's our last episode before Juneteenth, 2021. Last week we broke down the legal definition of slavery. This week we talk about Juneteenth, the upcoming introduction of the 28th amendment, and the committee hearings on slavery abolitionist bills in Ohio, California, and Oregon. All of which are happening this coming week. We'll also discuss all the news, organizations, and people relevant to the ever-growing slavery abolitionist movement. We encourage non-white listeners to dial in with their codified concepts, new terms, observations, research findings, workplace problems or triumphs, and/or suggestions on how best to Replace White Supremacy With Justice ASAP. We’ll use these sessions to hone our use of words as tools to reveal truth, neutralize White people. We’ll examine news reports from the past seven days and – hopefully – promote a constructive dialog.

The global nature of White Supremacy/Racism was again on display this week, as a twenty year old White man killed 4 people and seriously injured another when he used his motor vehicle to ram a Muslim family in Ontario, Canada. Nathaniel Veltman is alleged to have targeted the family of five because they are Muslim (not White). Below the border in Michigan, an asian male is charged with shooting a 6-year-old black child who attempted to retrieve a bicycle. The shooter was released on $10,000 bond. Mastercard announced $1.3 billion pledge to improve Covid-19 vaccination rates in Africa. This week, the U.S. announced they would also donate thousand of vaccine shares to poorer countries around the world.

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the weekly summit on Neutralizing Workplace Racism. We're days removed from the White Terrorist shooting in San Jose. Samuel Cassidy, the alleged killer, is reported to have worked for the VTA for nearly 10 years. This week, it was revealed that Cassidy has a documented history of insubordination and conflict. How many black workers - especially black males - are allowed to remain employed while building a reputation as troublesome and non-compliant? Coincidentally, numerous reports indicate that even with the sizable number of folks who've worked from home over the past 17 months, there's still been a rise in the workplace harassment. Keeping one's composure and documentation are greats tools to counter unprofessional workplace abuse.

The Context of White Supremacy hosts the debut study session on Randall Sullivan's LAbyrinth : A Detective Investigates the Murders of Tupac Shakur and Notorious B. I. G. , the Implications of Death Row Records' Suge Knight, and the Origins of the Los Angeles Police Scandal. Sullivan is an actor, journalist, producer, screenwriter, and author who's hosted a television program on Oprah Winfrey's network and written reports for The Washington Post and Rolling Stone. Way back when The C.O.W.S. was in middle of reading Jeffrey Toobin's The Run of His Life, Gus said that a master class on the Simpson trial would examine that case in context with the beating of Rodney King and the subsequent trial and rioting, the LAPD Rampart scandal, and the assassinations of Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. The book club just concluded Geronimo Pratt's biography, which examines how the very same LAPD and Los Angeles district attorney's office conspired to keep an innocent black male caged for 25 years - where he could have easily been killed. Importantly, the former Black Panther and COINTELPRO victim Pratt was Shakur's godparent. We'll now read Sullivan's account of how the LAPD may have been complicit in the unsolved murders of 2Pac and Biggie Smalls.

This month California started a two-year study into how the state might compensate African Americans for slavery and its lingering effects when a newly formed reparations committee met for the first time. Joining us tonight is Kamilah Moore, an activist, and lawyer who was appointed chair of the task force.
