Joining our host Charlie this week is Sean Baker (51) who is a mental health nurse. Sean was diagnosed with prostate cancer at 49 and had the operation to remove his prostate at 50. After being diagnosed Sean was shortly diagnosed with MS.
.
What I love about this interview is Sean really dives deep and answers plus shares information that I haven’t heard people really dive into. He really helps us capture what it can be like for men after getting their prostate removed

It’s time for us to dive into the taboo topic that not a lot are open to talking about. Prostate cancer effects 1 in 4 afro Caribbean men and over the next few weeks we want to focus on this topic to raise awareness and share different mens stories. Kicking it off we have Errol Mckellar joining Charlie this week.
.
Errol Mckellar is the founder of "The Errol Mckellar foundation", after his treatment he made it his mission to help raise more awareness. Forty eight men walked into his garage and he persuaded them to get tested and they were diagnosed with prostate cancer
.
Through his campaign he has saved over 1 million lives and because of his amazing work he has recently been awarded an MBE.
.

For the last episode we thought it was only right to shine the light on some amazing BAME organisations within the cancer community and hear short snippets of why they started and what they do. Leanne and Charlotte are joined by Beverley De'gale co-founder of ACLT, Jean representing Cancer Black Care, Iyana co- founder of Sakoon Through Cancer, Adedoyinsola representing Cancer Education and Toral representing BAME Cancer Support. It is so important especially with everything that has been going on this year that we come together and support each other and don't stand divided. What is lovely is each organisation has different focuses so if we need to refer people there is always an outlet. Together we stand.
The last episode of the series guys, it have been such a pleasure speaking with the guests and interacting with the listeners. Thank you so much for your on going support series two will be back in the winter.

It's well known amongst the cancer community that some people experience ALOT of mobility issues after it's harsh treatments, for the patients caught up in the whirlwind of all this there is no "bounce back" or no "normal" again- life becomes very much focused on how to accept and navigate their newly inherited life altering, physical effects.
On this week's episode Leanne has let Charlotte take the lead and joining her to talk about their own journey's of cancer and mobility are two Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) survivors Elesha Turner and Charlene Young.
