Giving is not an obligation — it is a privilege! With the right placement and the right patterns, you have the potential to be radically generous. How do we go from a single seed to being someone who produces more seeds? In Part 4 of Seed to Seeds, we’ll learn six things about Giving that will radically transform the way you respond to opportunities to be generous.

How are your financial habits? Are they healthy? We will never live radically generous if we maintain bad money patterns. As we walk through Psalm 23 we will discover God’s principles for our finances. Even if you’ve had the same old habits for years, you can lay them to rest today!

As a seed we can sprout and grow only when we are placed in fertile soil, when Jesus has control over all aspects of our lives. This message will encourage you to evaluate where you have put your treasure. What kind of soil are you in? Jesus describes 4 types of soil and only one produces fruit that multiples.

Often times the desire to be generous is squashed by the lie, “I don’t have enough.” How do we move from wanting to being radically generous? As we explore Jesus’ story of the loaned money, we discover that God has trusted every believer with the perfect amount of His resources to live a generous life. Radical generosity begins when we see our unique potential to make a difference through our giving.

Money and drama fit together really well! But is money the true cause? When we are motivated by greed, we forfeit healthy relationships. Jesus warned that greed is very sneaky; too often we miss it in our own hearts. Jesus told a story of two sons who allowed greed in; they wanted the father’s stuff instead of the father himself. We discover that the way to cut down greed in our lives is to recognize the nearness of God. When we realize that God is close, we can trust Him to provide for us, and we can live radically generous!

Everyone knows how it feels to be hurt by a family member or close friend. Our normal response is to hurt back. This will always lead to family drama. Joseph had every right to hurt his brothers for what they did to him. He believed three truths that enabled him to forgive. When we choose to drop the rope, we take a step towards forgiving others.

How do you respond when you feel unloved by a family member? We can become aggressive, uncaring, or detached from people who “should” show us love but don’t. We may attempt to fill that inner-emptiness with love from another person, only to realize we are still hurting. As we read about Leah, we discover that the love of God has the power to lessen the pain we feel in moments when we feel unloved by others.

God wants you to have complete joy in life! The key to finding this is not through seeking to serve ourselves in life, but to serve others. When we choose an attitude of serving others, we experience God's heart for unity in the Church. Discover how you can take your next step to experiencing complete joy!
