This episode, we feature the return of Jackie Hern, who guests with Brett, David, and Nicole in their first encounter with the team of Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker. ZAZ honed their skills together in university comedy theater, and took advantage of how sketch comedy was taking off with the advent of Saturday Night Live. Their frenetic style inspired a generation of vulgar but funny filmmakers. Future movies borrowed the idea of cramming in as many jokes as possible in a short time frame, but always with an over-arching narrative. Every parody film made since 1977 pretty much owes its existence to Kentucky Fried Movie.

This episode, David, Brett, Nicole, and returning guest Dominic Cichocki dive into this mess of seashells, Taco Bell sauce, and virtual sex to see if we can’t find its redeeming features (hint: they are hard to find).

Obscure, arcane, and debatable pieces of text are the bread and wine of the religion geek, and The Da Vinci Code fed the multitudes on it. The movie is based on Dan Brown’s popular novel, and joins the ranks of movies that focus on the weirder aspects of the Roman Catholic church, such as secret societies, rites of exorcism, assertions of divinity walking the earth, and predictions about the end of the world. Does David and Brett’s world come to an end because they have to discuss this oddity? Let’s find out!
