Point guard & DMV native Elijah Hawkins has transferred to Texas Tech for his senior season, after spending two seasons at Howard and last year at Minnesota. Last season, Hawkins finished 2nd nationally in assists per game & is motivated to improve on that mark this season. We discussed his decision to transfer to Texas Tech, how his role may change, what new elements of his game he's going to show this season, and how playing in the DMV prepared him for both the Big10 and Big12 Conferences. In his freshmen season, American University's Greg Jones started 7 of 32 games and averaged 2.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, .6 assists, and .7 steals.
