Host John Lund chats with Jody Demling, a legend covering Louisville sports, about what's happened to the football team and what to expect from men's hoops this season. Jody is the sideline reporter for the University of Louisville Radio Network, the publisher for Cardinal Authority with 247 Sports, host for the Cards Cast podcast, play-by-play for ACC Network and was also a longtime writer for the Louisville Courier-Journal. And he's a Louisville grad, class of 1995. He's on Twitter @jdemling.

Host John Lund recap Louisville's 20-19 loss to Clemson on last Friday night. What went wrong, what went right, what went wrong again, and what head coach Jeff Brohm and QB Miller Moss had to say about it afterward. It was the end of any ACC championship game or the College Football Playoff hopes, and the third of now three losses that still had plenty of chances to win, despite more frustrating play from the offense and the worst game of the season from special teams. The same mistakes that plagued the team throughout the season came at the game's most important moments, critical mistakes as Jeff Brohm put it about 200 times after the game. Guess we're on to basketball season!

Host John Lund previews Louisville's Week 12 home game against Clemson on Friday night, first by talking to William McDermott and then hearing from head coach Jeff Brohm on what he thinks about the Tigers. William is a publisher for On3's Cardinal Sports and also does play-by-play for the Louisville Sports Network. He's also an Indiana University Media School grad, so we joke about if he'd rather be covering Indiana for the run they've been on, what went wrong for the Cardinals on Saturday against Cal, what needs to change to beat Clemson, and what Pat Kelsey has meant to the Louisville basketball program and picking up his first win in the rivalry with Kentucky.
For Clemson, the Tigers will have the best defensive line that Louisville has seen since Miami, and a quarterback that hasn't forgotten how to play football despite a dud of a Heisman campaign. The pressure will be back on the defense, and on Miller Moss to respond from losing to Cal.

Host John Lund recaps Louisville hoops beating Kentucky at home, 96-88, to finally take back the rivalry, and with the player on the floor. Freshman Mikel Brown Jr. was phenomenal for the Cards, dropping 29 points and hitting the big shots when needed as the leader on the floor. Ryan Conwell was the perfect compliment in the backcourt, Isaac McKneely showed off his sharp shooting and Sananda Fru had a sellout crowd chanting his name. After a breakfast ball last year, Pat Kelsey got the best of Mark Pope and hopefully brought set forth on a new era for the Battle of the Bluegrass.

Host John Lund recaps Louisville's 29-26 overtime loss to Cal in Week 11, just about ending any hopes of the Cardinals making it to the ACC championship game and/or the College Football Playoff.

Host John Lund previews Louisville's Week 11 home game against the California Golden Bears and what the Cards need to do to keep their ACC championship and College Football Playoff hopes alive. Also, just one more rant about the first CFP rankings. Not much of a secret on how to stop Cal! It's stopping the arm of lefty freshman QB Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele, who ranks fourth in the conference in passing yards but is also tied for second in interceptions. His throws can be dazzling or disastrous, and the Cardinals No. 1 conference defense will be hoping for more of the latter. Louisville will have some different names in the backfield, with Isaac Brown out with a hamstring injury but Duke Watson probable to be back from a leg injury. With the ACC championship game and College Football Playoff still up for grabs, UofL can hopefully take care of business. And, one more rant on the first CFP rankings, with two more voices to support our arguments from last episode. Andrea Adelson and David Hale on the Inside ACCess show provided more great insight on the stupidity of Miami being eight spots away from Notre Dame, how that impacts Louisville and where the Cards should have actually been ranked.

Host John Lund gets mad online (figuratively) about Louisville's spot in the first College Football Playoff rankings and rants about who gets picked for the committee and the selection process of the teams overall. Also, sound from head coach Jeff Brohm's Monday press conference about beating Virginia Tech and what to expect against Cal in Week 11, handing out this week's game ball, how the rest of ACC football fared in Week 10, and what the boys in Vegas think about the conference. The Cardinals have the third-best odds in the conference to win the ACC Championship, but best odds of the ACC to make the College Football Playoff, and win the whole thing?!

Host John Lund recaps Louisville's 28-16 win at Virginia Tech in Week 10 to improve the Cards to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference. We'll go over the highs and lows, what plays stood out to change the game and hear back from what head coach Jeff Brohm had to say about the win. A spooky first half the day after Halloween for Louisville that completely flipped in the second half, with UofL outscoring the Hokies 21-0 and keeping their ACC championship hopes alive.

Host John Lund previews Louisville's Week 10 matchup against Virginia Tech at Lane Stadium and what the Cards can do to beat the Hokies in yet another Battle of the Birds. We'll also hear more of Jeff Brohm's thoughts from beating Boston College and what to expect at VT, as well as how the rest of ACC football fared in Week 9 and what the boys in Vegas think about the conference. It's the same ol' song and dance for how the Cardinals win this game that we've been talking about for weeks now. A smart game from Miller Moss, establishing the running game, slaying the dragon that is a dual-threat quarterback, winning the turnover battle and not committing stupid penalties. Louisville is playing meaningful football in November, something that a lot of teams expected to be coming into the season and are no longer. And, some Louisville teams that maybe had more talent or promise or trust, also did not. Because even with all the hemming and hawing that comes on social media after games, the Cards are still 6-1, and still in position to reach all of their goals.

Host John Lund recaps Louisville's 38-24 win over Boston College in what was ugly, exciting, boring and thrilling Week 9 win, along with sound from Jeff Brohm's postgame press conference. History thankfully didn't repeat itself with the Cardinals suffering an upset the game immediately after winning by with an upset of their own, though the game certainly was uneasy at times. The running game carried the load, the defense did its job once again and UofL improved to 6-1 and still in the mix to play for an ACC championship. We'll highlight the best and worst moments, react to Coach Brohm's commentary and review individual performances in winning the Battle of the Birds.
