Bleav in Mississippi State

Coach Jeff Lebby resumed the preseason schedule with a Tuesday morning session. Mississippi State has three standard practices this week, a Friday walk-through, and a Saturday scrimmage on Scott Field. Investing a practice day in a walk-through session to get ready to scrimmage is another example of Lebby's attention to all the details of a season. Offensive lineman Jacoby Jackson came for a Tuesday interview which is provided here as well.

Two days of the Major League Baseball Draft are done. There are no big surprises for Mississippi State so far, either with varsity Diamond Dogs taken--or not--nor unexpected signee selections. This is a college-heavy draft so far as the shorter twenty-round system, shrinking minor league rosters, and NIL competition makes picking good college players a better bet. Jeff Lebby reports to Dallas for Wednesday morning and Mississippi State's turn at SEC Media Days. Quarterback Blake Shapen, lineman Albert Reese, and linebacker John Lewis accompany their coach and all are Media Days rookies.
