Because the things we bring into our hearts can destroy us numbers 25 shows us that when Balaam couldnot curse the children of Israel no matter how much offerings he gave to God he knew that the children of Israel would curse themselves by allowing themselves to be seduced by the moabites and they did because the men started to indulge in sexual immorality so they invited them to sacrifices to their gods so Israel joined in to worshipping baal of peor. And it caused a plague that killed 24.000 off them and it only stopped when phinehas the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron killed zimri the Israelite man and the moabite woman he had brought into the camp because he was zealous for God. Because to bring a moabite woman into their camp was showing no repect for God who had brought them out of Egypt and wouldn't allow anyone to curse them. Sometimes we waste our time. Looking for something that wasn't promised to us. But we feel like that is what we want and we become like spoilt children not wanting to let go even when it is not working for us. I was having a talk with the father today and what he said was serious but I had to laugh because what he said about me was true . And I could see that I had been wasting my time and looking for something that wasn't promised to me and i think I have been holding on to things that were not meant to be and have been putting myself though drama that wasn't necessary. So all the Lord want to tell us is to save ourselves heartache and pain wasting our time looking for things that are not ours or his plans for us. More now than ever when some people are turning against the Gospel. We has Christians need to check ourselves and ask God to help us to renew our minds that we don't forget who we are in christ and allow ourselves to be dragged down by the issues of life. I have noticed that in the UK there is such a Sprit of fear concerning fuel cost bills food prices being able to keep our homes warm their are people saying they are not going to put their heating on until January. Even when it's cold now it's effecting children too parents can't afford to give them healthy lunch boxes they talk about having to put on extra clothes in the home some churches are opening there doors that people can have a warm space and though all this big companies are making a big profit while others suffer and this is how the world behaves that is why The Gospel tells us to put our trust in heaven not earth and we need to always remember that we are just pasting though and remember that we are here to live a life pleasing to God not the world so we have to always remember to check ourselves before God has to check us the Bible tell us to be careful because we can think we are standing but we may be falling. I don't know about anyone esle but I have wasted money time and emotions doing things that God keeps telling is not going to work. Sometimes we take other people's advice putting our trust in other people more than we trust God. But the reason God is telling us what he is telling us is because he already knows what we need and he knows doing what we are doing is not going to get us where we need to be in life or our relationships sometimes we want to keep doors open that should be locked and the keys thrown away that God can open fresh doors in our lives. The word influences means. The capability to have a effect on the character. Development or behaviour of someone or something or the effect itself in the Bible numbers 13 we see that moses sent some spies to check out the promised land that God had told them he was giving to them. He told them this land was fruitful and filled with milk and honey. And they saw it with there own eyes a bunch of grape had to be carried by two people. But the people they saw frightened them. They started saying how the people saw them even when the people didn't see them. But the news they brought back to moses influenced all the people and even when caleb who was one of the spies told them we can process this land they didnot believe him. Which meant they did not go into the promised land and wondered around for 40 years because they didnot trust the promise of. God we have to be careful we don't listen to the wrong advice and miss out on the good life that God has planned for us we have to be careful who we allow to influence us. And who we listen to. I remember I learned this lesson in 2003 when I frist became a Christian I had a lovely pair of red shoes with a gem on the front that I had brought before I became a Christian. And I think it may have been my 3rd time attending church that I thought to myself if I wear these shoes to church people are going to think iam overdressed so I look for a plain shoes to wear. But when I got to the front of the church with people standing there I fell flat on my face. Now if I had not thought about what other people were going to think about my shoes that wouldn't have happened because I would have worn my red shoes. . Now when I pass that church there is a white line where I fell to remain people to be careful of that invisible step. But it remains me that i have to be me no matter how inconvenience it may be to other people because Yahweh created me to be me even when it hurts sometimes. I can only be me. And God is so faithful he will help me to peel of everything that life choices and other people some times want me to be have you ever noticed how we are always talking about these people who are going to have something to say about our life we don't even know them but we make them impact our life. Are you the kind of person like me who buys things and then just packs them away buy pictures to go on the wall but puts them anywhere but the wall. Who buys clothes and shoes and packs them in suitcases or buys things that you like for yourself then gives them away yes it's good to give to others but it's also good to give to yourself. Has Christians sometimes we have a mindset that we should always give things up for other people at the cost of losing out ourselves. But if we always think like that God doesn't get to bless us has he wants to because we are always thinking we are not worth what he is trying to give us. I asked a friend to pray for me and the way she prayed was more than I would have prayed and I came in agreement with that prayer for her too. And it showed me that God wants to do for me far more than I could imagine.and he has shown me area of my life that I need to improve on.
