🟠 Bitcoin mining difficulty dropped by over 5% on July 5 to 79.50 terahashes per second (TH/s), the lowest in the quarter. This followed a peak of 88.10 TH/s in May. Difficulty adjusts every two weeks every 2,016 blocks to maintain a 10-minute block time, reflecting changes in network mining power. The decrease in Bitcoin mining difficulty can affect miners in a few ways:

🌟 Robinhood is progressing with its acquisition of Bitstamp, a global cryptocurrency exchange. Robinhood has filed a change of control application with the NYDFS, marking a regulatory step towards the acquisition announced on July 3, 2024. The deal, expected to close by the first half of 2025 pending approvals, is valued at approximately $200 million in cash, with adjustments. 🏦 The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recommended that the U.S. enhance its fiscal position by reducing expenditures and boosting revenues. The IMF highlights the importance of addressing the rising debt through policy adjustments and advises maintaining current interest rates until late 2024. “Given these risks, we concur that the Federal Reserve should maintain policy rates at their current level until at least late 2024,” stated the IMF chief. The court found the SEC did not prove that secondary market sales of BNB or Binance’s stablecoin, BUSD, constituted securities transactions. This ruling limits the SEC’s ability to regulate the crypto market through enforcement and highlights the need for clearer and more consistent regulations. The SEC claims ConsenSys earned over $250 million in fees from these activities and seeks to stop further violations, impose penalties, and order other relief, emphasizing ConsenSys’s non-compliance with federal laws. 💰 VanEck, has filed for a new Solana ETF. On June 27, Matthew Sigel, recovering CFA, VanEck’s head of digital assets research, announced on Twitter, X that the firm submitted a filing to the SEC for the VanEck Solana Trust. This new fund aims to leverage Solana’s decentralized nature, high utility, and economic feasibility, marking the first Solana ETF filing in the U.S. If approved, the ETF will be listed on the Cboe BZX Exchange. 🚨 Bitstamp drops Tether.io’s Euro Stablecoin Due to New MiCA Rules. Official blog here https://lnkd.in/dHe8BFej states that EUR-denominated stablecoin EURT, will be delisted in advance of the June 30 deadline. The changes are in accord with MiCA regulations. Bitstamp will also not list any new EMTs that don’t meet MiCA requirements, nor will it engage in any marketing of them.

🚨 On 25th June , Cardano repelled a spam attack with minimal impact, demonstrating its robust security. Intersect formed a task force to prevent future attacks. The network experienced only minor slowdowns. Despite this resilience, Cardano’s market cap still lags behind other layer 1 networks. The incident also led to social media memes and the brief creation of a meme coin, DDoS. Scammers falsely claimed partnerships with Ticketmaster and MoonPay, promising token holders discounts on tickets and merchandise. Similar scams recently targeted rapper 50 Cent and wrestler Hulk Hogan.

🚨Bybit surpasses Coinbase
Kaiko has reported that since October, Bybit’s market share has surged from 8% to 16%, surpassing Coinbase in March to become the second-largest exchange after Binance. Coinbase’s global market share has seen only a minor increase of 1% over the same time period.
