BTE Ireland are the team undertaking the task of building Ireland. Their discord currently has 2000 members which is managed by a small team of 6th year students. The members , with ages ranging from 16 to 21, have done incredible work so far; they have successfully coordinated many building teams to construct some amazing well known Irish buildings and landmarks , curated a virtual community, managed multiple remote teams, produced social media content and have been active in socialising internationally.
Beginning April 20th 2020 when Mateusz Bartnik, one lone Transition year student, discovered the worldwide project and realising that there was no Irish BTE team, decided to try to contact the team that were currently managing building Ireland. After weeks of trying to get in touch with no luck, Mateusz began inviting Irish members into an “unofficial BTE Ireland '' discord server he made. He spent the next 2 months convincing the team currently managing Ireland to hand the reins to him and the newly formed “Build the Earth Ireland” team. Proving themselves more than capable after growing their member count to over 200.
