  • Laidback Luke and Linney Light the Fuse With Explosive Single, "Gasoline"

Laidback Luke and Linney have joined forces for a new single, "Gasoline."

Out now on Dim Mak, the track ropes in songwriting dynamo Linney, whose vocal performance throws a match onto Luke's vintage electro arrangement. Recently named to the EDM.com Class of 2025, she delivers a vocal that refuses to flinch as the track shifts into second gear with piston-punch kicks and revving basslines.

"Gasoline" arrives with the kind of narrative weight that emphasizes a breakout moment in progress for Linney. "Gasoline" marks another leap forward in a year that’s seen her launch her own label as well as make her solo DJ debut at EDC Las Vegas, the largest EDM festival in North America.

"I’ve been wanting to work with Linney for a while now, her voice has this emotional fire that draws you in," Luke explained in a press release. "After I heard her on 'Act of God,' I asked for a spoken-word vocal. She sent me the acappella for 'Gasoline,' and I could finally unleash my Dutch versus Bloghouse energy onto it."

You can listen to "Gasoline" below and find the new release on streaming platforms here.

  • Moore Kismet is Brilliantly Unhinged in Dazzling Sophomore Album, "SATURATE YOUR WORLD!"

Moore Kismet has released their sophomore album, SATURATE YOUR WORLD!, which arrives with the sort of unhinged brilliance of an artist who learned that chaos makes better music than order ever could.

Brimming with glitched-out bangers and lyrical bravado, SATURATE YOUR WORLD! is what happens when you stop apologizing for taking up space and embrace the fact that the world is better off with your particular brand of beautiful dysfunction. After three years of tortuous development, the EDM.com Class of 2021 star has emerged with what they confidently call their finest work yet.

"I’ve spent 3 long years working on this project throughout so many phases and changes in my life," Kismet said of the album on social media. "Creating art will forever be my constant, and I can proudly say that this is THE best Moore Kismet project to date."

Kismet, whose songwriting chops have always been far beyond their years, has proven a master at crafting songs that echo the frustration of a world too sluggish for a racing heart. "TEAR U APART" conveys that emotional whiplash through a galloping techno beat as Luma's tormented vocals try to keep up, like reality buffering at 240p while your feelings load in 4K.

True to form, Kismet's approach to production feels refreshingly anarchistic, treating genre boundaries like outdated social contracts that deserve to be broken. The album feels genuinely disruptive rather than performative, especially in "KAAHO," a collaboration with Brazilian producer KARAN! where snarling synths writhe through a filthy funk carioca rhythm. The same can be said of "1touch," where off-kilter UK garage grooves mutate into a woozy trap drop.

You can listen to SATURATE YOUR WORLD! below and find the new album on streaming platforms here.

  • Armin van Buuren's New 51-Track Album Charts Trance Icon's Path From Emptiness to Equilibrium

Somewhere between his 847th airport lounge and what must have been his millionth drop, Armin van Buuren realized he'd been sleepwalking through superstardom.

"Around five years ago, I hit a point where I wasn’t truly happy, energized or present," says the Dutch electronic music icon. "I had been running on autopilot for years, constantly chasing the next thing. I felt like I was drifting, and I needed to wake up."

We now have Breathe, van Buuren's sprawling new album, which features an astonishing 51 tracks. The producer split his ninth studio effort into Breathe In (released last year) and Breathe Out (arriving now), ultimately creating the "most creatively free and inspired" music of his career, according to a press release issued by his label, Armada.

The dual-album structure mirrors how healing happens in phases, with breathing in representing acceptance and breathing out symbolizing release from outdated versions of ourselves.

"Realizing how easily this can happen, how it can affect both your personal life and career, and how hard it is to control, I want to help normalize conversations around mental health, especially in this industry," he added. "It’s something I’ve wrestled with for a long time, and I’ve come to see that vulnerability can be a real strength."

    Armin van Buuren.

    Kelly Knisel/EDM.com

The transformation story reads like every wellness influencer's—cringe—"journey," but something feels distinctly authentic about van Buuren's experience. The sheer audacity of releasing over 50 songs with titles like "When We Come Alive" and "God Is In The Soundwaves" suggests someone who experienced a truly profound epiphany.

Ultimately, the album treats mindfulness not as spiritual luxury but as professional necessity, recognizing that sustainable creativity requires sustainable creators.

"I've never felt this clear and focused in the studio," he gushed. "Taking care of myself, mentally and physically, gave me the headspace to experiment, to collaborate without pressure, and to really enjoy the process again."

  • REZZ Announces Fifth Album, "As The Pendulum Swings"

REZZ has announced a new album, As The Pendulum Swings, and released its third single, "Prophecy," out today via HypnoVizion.

The new track sets the stage for REZZ's fifth album, which marks another bold new chapter in her evolving sound. After experimenting with goth-inspired themes on 2023's IT'S NOT A PHASE EP and exploring heavy bass elements on last year's CAN YOU SEE ME? album, As The Pendulum Swings introduces new influences like "French electro and dark techno," according to a media alert shared with EDM.com.

Following earlier singles "Contorted" and "Telepathy," "Prophecy" offers another captivating preview with its ominous production and intricate, contorting melodies. The track builds with powerful basslines, which writhe through intense production that feels like it could soundtrack a Batman movie.

REZZ has not yet announced a release date for As The Pendulum Swings, but the album is "set to arrive later this year," per the media alert. You can listen to "Prophecy" below and find the new single on streaming platforms here.

  • Alison Wonderland Channels Personal Hell Into Distorted Banger, "Again? F*ck."

Mental health cycles operate like broken jukeboxes, playing the same destructive tune repeatedly until someone kicks the machine, which is exactly what Alison Wonderland does on her new single, "Again? F*ck."

She builds musical mousetraps throughout the track, luring listeners with sugary hyperpop before snapping shut with distorted trap beats that mirror her own health-induced spiral.

"At the end of last year I was going through major health problems and was feeling stuck in a loop, almost helpless," Wonderland wrote on social media. "This song is about taking out my frustration but having a sense of humor about it because it was the only way I could cope."

The profanity in the track's title signals exasperation rather than rage, like someone who finally laughs at their own ridiculous patterns. Floating on clouds of candy-coated synths, her vocals reframe mental health struggles as material conditions rather than moral shortcomings, removing shame from the equation entirely.

To that end, the track suggests that recovery culture's emphasis on gratitude might be another trap, offering exhaustion as an equally valid emotional response. Sometimes the most therapeutic thing you can do is stop trying to be therapeutic, embracing mess as its own form of clarity.

  • Adam Port, Stryv and Malachiii Reunite for Smoldering Afro-House Anthem, "Positions"

Adam Port, Stryv and Malachiii have joined forces for "Positions," a hotly anticipated single out now.

Out now via Interscope, the sultry track reunites the group behind the chart-topping "Move," which quickly emerged as one of the defining tracks in today's Afro-house scene after its release in June 2024. That track served as a breakthrough for Port, eclipsing a billion collective streams and garnering the Keinemusik member Platinum certifications in several countries.

Port and Stryv tackled the production of "Positions" with the same sleek approach by crafting a hypnotic bassline, which glissades through crisp percussion that snaps like heels on a dimly lit dancefloor. Meanwhile, Malachiii locks into the groove with his signature chant-like cadence, warbling with a meditative insistence.

It remains to be seen whether or not the group's creative chemistry survives the pressure of the commercial expectations that arise from a global hit like "Move." Regardless, some artists spend entire careers searching for their signature sound, and it's becoming clearer than ever that Port has found his.

  • Inside the 2025 Electric Forest Festival, a Surreal Celebration of Fantasy and Found Family

Each June, the quiet town of Rothbury, Michigan transforms into the psychedelic wonderland of Electric Forest, where electronic music, surrealist art and human connection collide. And in 2025, the event once again reminded its 50,000-strong "Forest Fam" why it remains one of North America’s most unique and beloved festivals.

Nestled in the lush, towering trees of Sherwood Forest, this year’s edition delivered on the festival's promise of sensory overload, jaw-dropping performances and serendipitous discovery. While headliners like Justice, Sara Landry, Tiesto, Zeds Dead and Of The Trees drew massive crowds, the soul of Electric Forest has always lived beyond the big stages.

This year was no different. Though the lineup spanned nearly every corner of the EDM spectrum—dubstep, techno, house, drum & bass and more—it was the spaces between the stages that continue to define the Forest experience.

The Dream Emporium made a triumphant return, featuring a surrealist blend of carnival chaos and artistic immersion. Attendees wandered through labyrinthine rooms where a mock pro wrestling match and a live roller derby set the scene for an unannounced Boogie T performance, one of many spontaneous surprises that kept even veteran Forest-goers on their toes.

Elsewhere, climbable art towers gave fans a literal new perspective while a fully functioning library offered a quiet sanctuary amid the madness. The forest was alive at every turn, pulsing with possibilities, whether you were exploring a hidden pathway or catching a renegade set on Main Street.

Electric Forest’s long-standing tradition of surprise sets reached a peak on Saturday night. When the official schedule dropped, fans were stunned to see an unannounced Levity b2b ??? b2b ??? set tucked into the lineup. Speculation ran wild, and the payoff was electric: Crankdat and Tape B joined Levity for one of the most thrilling and unexpected sets of the weekend.

The moment was particularly poignant for longtime fans who are aware that Levity, the EDM.com Class of 2024 trio, first rose to prominence after a surprise performance at Electric Forest's Honeycomb stage two years ago. This year's b2b felt like a full-circle moment.

View the original article to see embedded media.

Ranch Arena, Tripolee, Sherwood Court, Honeycomb and The Observatory continued to deliver breathtaking sets and production. But part of the magic of Electric Forest lies in its commitment to decentralizing the experience.

Smaller stages like the Grand Artique and the Chapel hosted some of the weekend’s most intimate and offbeat performances. And in true Forest fashion, music could be found virtually anywhere, including DJ sets at pop-up vendors and food stalls.

Following last year’s weather-related disruptions—and the complete cancellation of Bonnaroo 2025 just days before—there was a quiet anxiety hanging in the air as fans rolled into Rothbury. But aside from a lightning storm that cut Friday night slightly short, the weather was a non-factor, allowing the full magic of the weekend to unfold.

    Electric Forest 2025.

    Alive Coverage/Electric Forest

More than just a music festival, Electric Forest is a living, breathing manifestation of community. The guiding principles of Peace, Love, Unity and Respect aren’t just slogans here, but invisible forces holding it all together.

You feel it in the way strangers become family. In the spontaneous high-fives and shouts of "CARL!" on forest paths. In the art installations built not just to be viewed, but to be experienced together. It’s an energy that can’t be faked or replicated.

In a festival landscape saturated with cookie-cutter lineups and high-end production, Electric Forest continues to set itself apart because of how it makes you feel. If you're looking to marry a love for electronic music with a deeper sense of community, the forest is calling. And once you answer, it never quite lets go.

  • California Politicians Designate June as "Electronic Dance Music Month"

California has officially designated June as "Electronic Dance Music Month," marking the first time the state has formally recognized the genre's cultural and economic significance, according to Assembly Majority Whip Mark González and Senator Sasha Renée Pérez.

The bipartisan bill was introduced in May and received sponsorship from 74 representatives prior to its approval. The politicians announced the declaration jointly on social media, highlighting EDM's impact on communities across the state and beyond.

"EDM is more than just music festivals," the lawmakers stated. "It’s a vibrant culture rooted in values of peace, love, unity, and respect. These events create inclusive spaces where people from all walks of life can express themselves freely, celebrate loudly, and be unapologetically proud of who they are."

The recognition comes as electronic dance music festivals continue to generate substantial revenue for the state of California and its local economies, due in large part to Insomniac Events. The renowned event organizer, mentioned by name in González and Pérez's post, is behind HARD Summer, Beyond Wonderland, Skyline and Day Trip, among other famed SoCal festivals.

Pasquale Rotella, Insomniac's founder and CEO, recently joined González at a ceremony to celebrate the bill's passing. You can watch footage from the event below.
