  • AREA15 Las Vegas Launching Nightlife Venue Inside Boeing 747 Plane

AREA15 will soon be opening the doors to one of its most ambitious ventures to date: a nightlife venue housed inside a Boeing 747.

Once known as one of Burning Man's most iconic mobile art pieces, the 150-foot-long plane was originally reimagined by the Big Imagination Foundation and transported to Nevada in parts. Now fully installed on AREA15's expansive campus, the jetliner is taking flight into a new chapter, hosting immersive nightlife experiences.

According to AREA15, the plane will be part of "the largest permanent installation of monumental art of its kind in the Southwest," featuring 60 sculptures and 30 murals once it's complete.

AREA15's decommissioned Boeing 747 aircraft will host various nightlife events.

Alongside the 747's debut, AREA15 is expanding its Zone 2 district with a newly developed 20-acre stretch of attractions, food and art that includes everything from Dolls Kill's flagship retail location to the largest Museum of Ice Cream ever built as well as Universal's "Horror Unleashed" attraction.

AREA15 has already drawn more than 15 million visitors since opening in 2020 as it continues to change the fabric of Vegas nightlife.

"Welcoming 15 million guests in under five years is an incredible milestone for AREA15," said Winston Fisher, CEO of AREA15. "With the launch of 'Zone 2: The Terminals,' we're doubling down on what makes AREA15 unique and bringing even more world-class art, immersive experiences, food and beverage options to both locals and visitors alike."

Additional venues and attractions will continue to roll out through the end of 2025 and into 2026 including new bars like the Midway and Carousel, food offerings including Saint Honoré Doughnuts & Beignets and Chilango’s Tacos, and interactive installations at Game Depot and Gateway Plaza Games.

"The installation of the 747 and the vertical rise of Zone 2: The Terminals aren't just construction milestones—they're symbolic of the momentum we've built," Fisher added. "We're redefining what experiential development can look like by merging visionary brands, radical creativity and the future of immersive entertainment."

AREA15 has not yet announced a launch date for the Boeing 747 venue, but "Zone 2: The Terminals" is scheduled to open August 14th. You can purchase tickets via AREA15's official website.

UNTOLD, Romania's premier music festival, which ranks 3rd in DJ Mag's 2025 Top Festivals list, is pulling out all the stops for its milestone 10th anniversary.

Dubbed UNTOLD X, the festival has unveiled its full star-studded lineup, promising exclusive performances and debut appearances that could define the European festival circuit this year.

The festival secured some serious headlining power with Metro Boomin making his European festival debut—his only performance on the continent this summer—complete with material from his hotly anticipated mixtape, A Futuristic Summa. Post Malone will kick off his latest tour at the event, marking his first-ever performance in Romania. British dance-pop sensation Becky Hill is also making her Romanian debut, bringing her chart-topping anthems to celebrate the festival's decade-long run.

EDM superstars are equally represented. Tiësto returns with an extended set designed to showcase his legendary catalog, while Martin Garrix promises a specially curated UNTOLD performance and Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello is poised for a solo set. Don Diablo has crafted an exclusive set for the occasion, and Alan Walker returns with what organizers promise will be a mind-blowing performance, not to mention Alok's "Human Is Art" show with special guests.

Elsewhere, Dom Dolla, Adriatique and Green Velvet will heat up the Galaxy stage for the first time. UNTOLD's partnership with Zamna takes over Galaxy on August 9th and will feature a b2b set between Toto Chiavetta and Zamna Soundsystem. Over at the Daydreaming stage will be UNTOLD debuts from Ben Böhmer, Röyksopp, Pachanga Boys, Bob Moses and Marten Lou.

Perhaps most intriguingly, UNTOLD X is keeping one act completely under wraps as a surprise revelation, adding an element of mystery to what's already shaping up as a landmark celebration.

  • A Labubu-Themed Rave Is Going Down in Las Vegas

The mischievous face plastered across Instagram feeds and bedroom shelves will tower over Vegas ravers as AREA15 hosts a one-night-only "Labubu Rave."

EDM and designer toy culture are colliding at the surrealist art complex Friday night, transforming it into what organizers describe as a "kaleidoscopic playground" inspired by the cult-favorite elfin character.

Created by Hong Kong-born illustrator and designer Kasing Lung, Labubu has garnered a devoted following among collectors willing to pay premium prices for limited-edition plush toys, with rare figures selling for up to $7,000. The brand in 2024 amassed over $1.8 billion in revenue, including $420 million outside China, according to CNN.

Scheduled for August 1st, the whimsical "Labubu Rave" will take place inside The Portal, one of the various rooms inside the massive AREA15 campus one mile west of the Strip. Designed as an immersive cuboid, The Portal transforms its floor, ceiling and four walls with 360° projection mapping and surround sound.

The event arrives as pop culture-themed raves continue to swell in statewide popularity, following similar parties inspired by Shrek, Pokémon, Powerpuff Girls, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Minions and even cheese. Earlier in the month of July, a Stranger Things-themed rave took place in Colorado ahead of the final season of Netflix's sci-fi juggernaut series.

AREA15's "Labubu Rave" is scheduled for August 1st. You can purchase tickets here.

Designed to engage users through a mix of sound, visuals, haptics and interactive tools, "Sound Bath" introduces a hands-on approach to traditional sound healing. The experience features music by Tiësto & 7 Skies, Liquid Bloom, Cloudchord and TRIPP’s Head of Music, David Starfire, inviting users into an interactive world of sound bowls.

  • "We Put Our Personality Into Everything We Do": DJ Pauly D Builds New Record Label on Jersey Shore Roots

Jersey Shore exploded in 2009 with a controversial premise and chaotic charm. But underneath the show’s spray tans and parties was an endearing belief: family above all.

Family drove the series to three seasons and many spin-offs. Now, that principle drives DJ Pauly D as he launches his new record label, Blowout Beats.

The DJ and reality TV star, whose real name is Paul DelVecchio, launched the label not to fund his patented hairstyle—don’t worry, his garage houses a lifetime supply—but to actualize a longtime passion. He has been touring constantly since 2009, the year Jersey Shore premiered. During that time, he’s met countless underexposed artists.

“I’m in a different state every day, and I see so much undiscovered talent all around the world,” DelVecchio tells EDM.com. “Why not be the guy to help those people get discovered? I want to put together an incredible team to help get them out there. I feel like the perfect avenue for that.”

He isn’t exclusively scouting DJs. A family consists of different roles, and DelVecchio has room to fill in his new home, from producers to writers and beyond. He is cultivating a specific culture at Blowout Beats, one that draws on his greatest strengths—from the boardwalk to the club.

“There is a lot of talent out there, but I like the ones with personality,” he explains. “I feel I do that with my DJing as well. I bring the personality along with the talent. That’s what I’m looking for.

“We put our personality into everything we do: our clothes, our hairstyle, everything. The DJ should do that too. I DJ to the crowd. I feed off their energy. They're putting on a show for me, too. We work together as a team to create that vibe.”

DelVecchio recently dropped “WYD After,” his first release since 2019’s “Silver and Gold.” The song’s release wasn’t an impulse decision or strictly promotional material. It was his commitment to expanding his artistic footprint.

“It’s the first time I’m saying this, but I will start creating music regularly,” DelVecchio confirmed. “It’s too much fun and I love it.”

Original music is an avenue DelVecchio neglected longer than planned. Electronic artists wear many hats: producing music, performing it live and touring. Added to that are his responsibilities of filming various reality shows—Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is in its eighth season—and his other business ventures.

“WYD After” reignited his passion for making music.

“There’s nothing better than creating music. Having an idea, putting it together and playing it out feels like a full circle moment,” DelVecchio said. “I’ve missed that. Bringing that back to my set is amazing. It’s what my sets have been missing.”

Reality television stars come and go, but few have parlayed their fame so fruitfully. The show’s emphasis on partying offered a favorable segue for DelVecchio, but celebrity only does so much without talent and drive.

For him, the show was a commercial to advertise his pre-existing DJ career. He has a simple philosophy for anyone using his journey as a blueprint.

“Don’t be afraid to go the extra mile,” he advised. “Take the initiative and do what you love on television. See if it translates after. It doesn’t always, but for me it did.

“It’s truly been a blessing being on a reality show. It allowed me to live out my dream.”

DelVecchio and the Jersey Shore cast walked into their Seaside Heights vacation home for the first time completely blind. The show’s premise was obscure. He could not have predicted the show’s success, let alone its life-altering domino effect, from DJing around the world to launching Blowout Beats.

The show was not only a success, but it also influenced a generational lexicon. “GTL,” “come at me bro!” and “smushing” are ingrained vocabulary for those who grew up on the show. To this date, people still yell, “Cabs are here!” when they spot DelVecchio.

“That’s the coolest thing," he says. "There was never a script. No one told us how to talk. It was a reality show, so we were being ourselves. People picked up on it and thought it was strange or cool…

“For it to be on t-shirts or for people to yell stuff out to me at airports, for it to still translate today is really cool. It’s surreal. I never thought that would happen.”

  • The First-Ever Multi-Day Music Festival at Egypt's Great Pyramids Is In the Works

The founder and CEO of Serbia's EXIT Festival, Dušan Kovačević, is organizing the first-ever multi-day, multi-stage music festival at the Great Pyramids of Giza, IQ Magazine reports.

The brand-new spinoff festival will likely take place in October 2026 and launch under a new name in order to reflect the spirit of its new setting, Kovačević said. The musical direction, he added, is expected to lean heavily on electronic music, a longtime signature of EXIT's identity.

"We feel that the pyramids are so symbolic that this event will have everything that EXIT stands for," he told IQ. "There is a lot of darkness everywhere in the world, but many people see the pyramids as pillars of light, so we will be making a strong message with that."

Though the upcoming event marks the first multi-day, multi-stage festival at the Pyramids of Giza, the site has hosted several high-profile EDM performances in recent years. Carl Cox, Above & Beyond and Keinemusik have all DJed at the historic landmark, and Anyma is scheduled to take the stage there October 10th.

Organizers have reportedly partnered with Venture Lifestyle, an Egypt-based promoter known for organizing large-scale concerts by Jennifer Lopez, John Legend and the Black Eyed Peas, among others.

The news marks an ambitious new chapter for EXIT following its 25th and final edition earlier in July due to "mounting pressure" from the Serbian government stemming from student-led anti-corruption protests of the tragic Novi Sad railway station canopy collapse of November 2024, which killed 16. EXIT was stripped of all government funding due to its alignment with the protests, Kovačević said in a statement released in June.

Prior to its final edition, EXIT Festival annually attracted 200,000 attendees to Petrovaradin Fortress, earning two European Festival of the Year awards while hosting global EDM superstars like Tiësto, Martin Garrix and Eric Prydz. Kovačević is leaving the door open for EXIT to potentially return to Serbia down the line, but for now, he's poised to expand to the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

The official dates for the festival at the Pyramids of Giza have not yet been announced at the time of this writing.

  • Denim Jacket Hand-Painted by Skrillex Hits the Market for Over $1,500

Editor's Note: The jacket was purchased shortly after we published this article and it is no longer for sale.

A rare piece of Skrillex history is now up for grabs, and it's far from your average merch drop.

The light-wash AllSaints denim jacket was hand-painted in 2015 by the iconic dubstep producer himself while in London, according to the seller's eBay listing. The size-medium jacket features custom artwork in red paint on the back as well as splatters across the bottom hem, and he cut the collar off.

Listed at a whopping $1,560, the piece is listed as an extremely rare "one of one" collector’s item.

The seller invokes Skrillex's past work in fashion and his drawings available online as references for authenticity, pointing to the DJ's 2013 collaboration with G-Star RAW. At the time, he designed a limited-edition pair of "Illwood" jeans for the brand, complete with hand-drawn illustrations of the same creatures that appear on the jacket.

As far as electronic music collectibles go, the jacket is one of the more personal and unique artifacts to surface from the Skrillex lore. It’s not part of an official merch drop or limited-edition brand release, but a one-of-a-kind item altered by the artist himself.

Whether it ends up in the hands of a dedicated fan or just someone with an affinity for rare streetwear, the jacket is a reminder that Skrillex’s creativity doesn’t stop at music.
