Pendulum are in vintage form on "Cannibal," the band's new single featuring British electronic-rock duo WARGASM. The track will appear on INERTIA, the iconic band's first full-length album in 15 years.
True to the group's genre-bending ethos, "Cannibal" blends elements of electro-punk and nu metal to deliver a convulsive drum & bass banger. WARGASM's unhinged contributions are practically carnivorous, devouring whatever genre boundaries remained ahead of Pendulum's long-awaited fourth album.
"I'd been listening to them for ages," Pendulum frontman Rob Swire said of WARGASM. "When we finally met, I asked about their influences—and as soon as they started talking, it felt familiar. Atari Teenage Riot, The Prodigy, all that stuff. Even though our sounds are pretty different, it was clear we came from the same place."
INERTIA is set to drop on August 22nd via Mushroom Music. The album, their first since 2010's Immersion, will feature a number of high-profile collaborations, including tracks with Bullet For My Valentine, AWOLNATION, Hybrid Minds and Joey Valance & Brae.

NERO are back with "Destruction," a relentless, rave-ready anthem that takes its name literally.
Out now via the influential electronic music group's own 2808 Recordings, "Destruction" lands with the force of a brick through a stained-glass window. The track's sinister synth stabs pierce through like searchlights slicing fog, establishing an atmosphere of impending chaos before they unleash a captivating four-on-the-floor drop.
Just as we settle into the hypnotic pulse, the arrangement fractures into vintage NERO drum & bass territory. The production from the iconic band, who said they "set out to fuse elements of rave, gabber, techno and drum & bass into a single, high-impact track," mirrors a generation grappling with too much noise and not enough clarity.
To that end, the lyrics harken back to the technological dystopia of Into the Unknown, NERO's stunning third album, which dropped in late-2024. "Enter your mind / The future is clear / Destruction," asserts a cybernetic voice, channeling the anxiety of a world teetering on collapse.
"It's raw, fast and built for the chaos of the crowd," NERO said of the new single.

Electronic dance music has officially dethroned rock as the dominant genre at America's premier music festivals, according to new data analyzing a decade of bookings.
The data was compiled by Booking Agent Info from artists who were officially booked on the lineups of Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Outside Lands, Governors Ball and Summerfest from 2015 to 2025. The site utilized its own genre classifications and used Apple Music as a tiebreaker in multi-genre edge cases. The analysis, they said, "measures programming trends—not artist performance, attendance, or ticket sales."
The study says electronic acts claimed 192 unique artists and 220 performances in 2025, marking the first time the genre has surpassed rock in major festival programming. The genre's resurgence began in earnest in 2022 with 205 performances by 169 unique artists, climbing steadily to reach historic highs by 2025 with 227 performances and 199 unique artists, the most in the dataset's 10-year span. Rock music lost over 90 unique artists and nearly 150 performances in that timeframe, according to the research.
Booking Agent Info
The numbers paint a picture of festival organizers responding to post-pandemic audiences craving the escapism and euphoria that electronic music uniquely provides.
"This trajectory mirrors the broader post-pandemic appetite for high-energy, immersive live experiences," the analysis notes. "Electronic music — from EDM to techno to bass-heavy hybrids — offered festivalgoers the escape and euphoria they were craving."
Dance and electronic artists took the lion's share of the 2025 Coachella lineup, EDM.com reported back in April. They commanded 39% of the iconic festival's billing, nearly doubling the 21% clip for indie, rock and alternative acts.

Anyma has announced a rare concert at Egypt's Great Pyramids of Giza, the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The performance on October 10th represents a "defining moment" for the superstar DJ and producer, according to a press release.
Erected roughly 4,500 years ago, the ancient Pyramids are fitting for Anyma's spellbinding brand of techno. The 10-hour event, running from 5pm to 3am local time, will utilize custom lighting and stage production technology to create what organizers describe as an "all-encompassing" sensory experience.
The show will span two distinctive segments: Anyma's "Quantum" concept presented as a DJ set, followed by his groundbreaking audiovisual show "The End Of Genesys," which recently wowed audiences at the Vegas Sphere as he became the venue's first-ever electronic headliner.
The latter production is centered on Anyma's android, Eva, who symbolizes the merging of humanity and technology. Its storyline follows her journey through creation and self-awareness, exploring themes of evolution, connection and the pursuit of higher consciousness through surrealist visuals, like forests pulsating with bioluminescent veins and humanoid figures writhing in unison to the music.
Anyma is playing two sets over the course of the evening in Egypt, but will not be performing for the full 10 hours. Additional artists will be announced at a later date.
His performance continues a trend of high-profile electronic music events at the Pyramids. Techno legend Carl Cox performed a historic DJ set in May 2023 before Aly & Fila followed with a co-headlining event alongside the iconic trance trio Above & Beyond. The chart-topping Keinemusik collective then performed at the site in April 2024, delivering a set that was ultimately named by EDM.com as one of the year's best.
Tickets are available exclusively through TicketEgypt, with organizers warning that purchases from unauthorized sources will not be honored. The event carries a 21-and-over age restriction.

When VELD Music Festival descends on Toronto in less than one week, Downsview Park will transform into a playground for dance music's elite.
With a lineup that fuses the biggest names in house and the heaviest hitters in bass music, the festival is shaping up to be one of the most explosive weekends of 2025. As the festival's August 1st kickoff draws near, these five artists on the lineup stand out as must-see acts destined to define the weekend.
Limited tickets to VELD 2025 remain on sale here.
ALLEYCVTAmong electronic music’s fastest-rising stars, ALLEYCVT has built a reputation for fusing emotive alt-pop vocals with guttural dubstep and bass sonics that land with emotional weight. She's continuing her debut at major festivals across the global circuit with a performance on the Saturday of VELD weekend.
A member of EDM.com's Class of 2025, ALLEYCVT is rapidly proving herself as a visionary of her own creative universe. The "Supersonic" artist's set will be a must-see moment for fans eager to witness one of the scene's most magnetic newcomers in her breakout era.
Toronto's own Rezz has become a hometown hero on the global bass stage, and her recent projects, including ambitious upgrades to her audiovisual shows, have only cemented her status as one of the genre’s most inventive performers.
She’s also gearing up for a major new chapter with her fifth album, As The Pendulum Swings, which spawned a new single, "Glass Veins," yesterday. When she returns to VELD, fans can expect an immersive dive into her trademark gritty darkness.
Few artists in dubstep embody resilience quite like Crankdat. After flirting with burnout and even the prospect of leaving music behind entirely, the producer explained in an interview with EDM.com how he rebuilt his project by leaning into risk-taking, fan connection, and an irreverent sense of fun.
A viral TikTok presence and the breakout success of 2023's "STFU" have fully reignited his momentum, culminating in sold-out headline shows and high-profile festival slots at Ultra and EDC Las Vegas in the time since. Crankdat arrives at VELD like an artist newly unshackled, intent on delivering a set as explosive as his comeback story.
Alesso has long held his place as a festival staple, crafting productions that fuse sweeping emotion with arena-sized power. His brand-new collaboration with Martin Garrix, "Inside Our Hearts," is perhaps no better example. The track is finally out after years of anticipation, having first electrified crowds at Ultra Music Festival 2023.
When Alesso takes the stage at VELD, fans can expect a set stacked with equal parts time-tested classics and recent releases destined to become tomorrow’s global dance anthems.
Sunday’s bill at VELD offers a rare convergence of techno's heritage and future. Green Velvet, the genre’s inimitable showman and one of its true architects, will join Layton Giordani, whose meteoric rise has placed him firmly among the most exciting names in electronic music.
Giordani, part of the EDM.com Class of 2025, has earned acclaim for a sound that tempers muscular percussion with spectral melodies. His shared history with Velvet includes a remix of Sharam’s "PATT (Party All The Time)," which dominated the festival circuit in 2024, but a full b2b performance at one of Canada's most high-profile festivals will mark another step forward in their collaborative saga.

After the release of his latest album Breathe, Armin van Buuren is trading breathwork for body blows by dropping a thunderous new single, "Heavy."
With "Heavy," van Buuren joins forces with 21-year-old Miami producer JOA to deliver a menacing slice of melodic techno. The track lunges forward on hammering synth stabs and a deep, pulsing bassline as distortion-soaked leads snake ominously through the mix. Every element is designed to hit unapologetically, a reminder that van Buuren, despite decades in the genre, still knows how to light up a dancefloor.
"Heavy" is another step in van Buuren’s ongoing efforts to champion new talent while expanding his sonic palette. JOA contributes brooding textures and a calculated intensity that fuses seamlessly with the trance icon's instincts.
It’s a striking contrast to van Buuren’s most recent project, the sprawling 51-track Breathe, an album split into two parts that reflects a deeply personal chapter in his life. The pioneering producer found himself embracing vulnerability and balance after years spent running on autopilot in the time leading up to its release. With "Heavy," he seems to have found a renewed appetite for unrelenting energy.

Two decades after the song first barked its way into the peak echelons of global pop culture, Baha Men’s "Who Let The Dogs Out" is back on the loose with a modern club-inspired twist, courtesy of Wuki and EDM.com Class of 2024 artist DJ Susan.
Few songs in modern history have sparked quite as much chaotic joy as "Who Let The Dogs Out." Released in 2000, the song became an instant earworm, powered by its singalong-style hook. It topped charts across the globe, became a staple at sporting events and even earned the Baha Men a Grammy for Best Dance Recording.
Now, a quarter-century later, the combined efforts of party-starting producers Wuki and DJ Susan have resurrected the track for a new generation. Their official remix trades the track’s calypso bounce for a relentless four-on-the-floor beat and distorted synth stabs, all while keeping its signature call-and-response intact. For Baha Men, the rework cements the enduring legacy of their biggest hit, proving that even 25 years later, the dogs are still running wild.

Tame Impala have returned with "End of Summer," a seven-minute voyage awash in euphoric psychedelia.
Kevin Parker infuses his signature blend of hypnotic nostalgia into the new track, which he debuted during his DJ set in Barcelona last month. While unmistakably stamped with Tame Impala's sonic DNA, "End of Summer" fearlessly ventures into new territory, laced with hazy nods to 90s acid house and the carefree chaos of rural raves.
Stepping into a new chapter since his last single two years ago, Parker is beginning somewhat of a transformation into what a press release calls a "future primitive rave act."
"A new era begins," Parker wrote on social media. "This is the first thing I want you guys to hear. I give you End Of Summer."
View this post on InstagramA post shared by Tame Impala (@tameimpala)
"End of Summer" is accompanied by a cinematic split-screen music video that plays like an emotional rewind, lingering in the bittersweet, final moments of summer. Directed by Julian Klincewicz, it effortlessly captures the golden intersection of joy, nostalgia and melancholy, when time stands still on the dancefloor. The split-screen effect reinforces this emotional coexistence, layering perspectives like overlapping memories.
While it's unclear if "End of Summer" is a standalone release or the first glimpse into an upcoming album, one thing is certain: Parker's experimentation with new sounds is a welcome emotional whirlwind, perfectly capturing the feeling of summer's last slow burn.

Swedish vodka company Absolut has joined forces with Tomorrowland to create a line of three limited-edition, glow-in-the-dark vodka bottles.
Named after Tomorrowland's 2025 theme, "Orbyz," the collection is the first of its kind for both brands, featuring glow-enabled exteriors developed in tandem with the Belgian festival's renowned design team.
"This is the first ever limited-edition collection created with Tomorrowland, or any other music partnership for that matter for Absolut," said Deb Dasgupta, Global VP Marketing for Absolut Vodka. "We had the great honor of becoming the first brand ever to interpret and reveal the annual theme on a commercial product before the festival."
Each 40% ABV bottle is fitted with a full-wrap, screen-printed design using both metallic and frost glow inks. The glow is engineered with photoluminescent color properties that respond best to UV exposure. In other words, the bottles would look better beneath the backlight of a nightclub than at a candlelit bar.
Absolut/Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen called the drop "a true collaboration between the creative masterminds at Absolut and Tomorrowland," emphasizing the narrative intent behind the design.
"We’re excited to be launching three limited-edition bottles this year, inviting consumers around the world to step into the Tomorrowland universe," she said.
You can purchase the limited-edition bottles here.
