Brooklyn Mirage's new LED system delivers higher pixel definition than the record-breaking Vegas Sphere, claimed the venue's newly appointed CEO, Josh Wyatt.
While the stunning Sin City venue has garnered international attention for its immersive visual capabilities and $2.3 billion price tag, Wyatt's comparison suggests a competitive edge for Brooklyn Mirage, which has become a cornerstone of New York's electronic music scene.
"This actually has the highest pixel definition of any LED experience in a venue in the United States," Wyatt said in a video shared on the venue's social media. "It's actually a higher pixel definition than the [Vegas] Sphere."
The revamped open-air events space in East Williamsburg features a 270-degree LED installation with a combined 30K resolution and approximately 100 million pixels across more than 3,000 tiles.
While the exact physical dimensions haven't yet been specified and the term "pixel definition" is ambiguous, Wyatt is likely referring to density. The high pixel count over a smaller area suggests a higher pixel density than the massive Sphere, which totals over 170 million pixels spread across 160,000 square feet, or about 1,600 pixels per square foot.
After an ambitious redesign and construction project, Brooklyn Mirage, which is housed in the expansive Avant Gardner complex, is scheduled to reopen tonight, May 1st. Wyatt took the helm in the fall of 2024 and vowed to address head-on the venue's oft-maligned pain points, like overcrowding, safety concerns and limited rideshare access, among others.
"Trust, transparency and accountability are the three key words in my moral compass," Wyatt told EDM.com in a sweeping interview ahead of the venue's relaunch. "I have pushed those three words down into the fiber of the company to ensure that employees understand that these are key expectations I have as CEO."
Upcoming events at Brooklyn Mirage will feature headlining sets from Black Coffee, Sara Landry, Peggy Gou, Charlotte de Witte and The Chainsmokers. You can find the venue's calendar and purchase tickets here.

While we all see the impressive production and performances from our favorite artists at Coachella each year, Zedd has provided an in-depth look into the immense preparation for that single hour onstage.
When fans secure their tickets to festivals or tune into livestreams, it's easy to assume that the performer simply shows up a few minutes before their set, performs and then goes home. But the job begins way before they even step foot on the festival grounds.
To share this often-unseen reality with his fans, Zedd developed a behind-the-scenes documentary about his performances in Indio earlier in the month and uploaded it to YouTube.
In the video's 15-minute runtime, fans are given exclusive looks at his rehearsals with collaborators Julia Michaels and Bea Miller as well as his production team. The film also features footage of backstage encounters with fellow artists like Becky G, LL Cool J, Lisa, Jaden Smith and Gryffin before closing out with backstage views of Zedd's Outdoor Theatre stage performance.
You can watch Zedd's full behind-the-scenes documentary from both weekends of Coachella 2025 below.

After hosting a noteworthy first season in 2024, Goldenvoice Surf Club returned to the desert for two standout weekends of fun under the sun.
Located inside the Palm Springs Surf Club, the daytime pool party series acted as a perfect poolside retreat before attendees headed east to the company's main event, Coachella.
Having once been the home of a sprawling water park, the venue included accommodations not found at your run-of-the-mill desert pool party. Water slides, a meandering lazy river, a swimming pool, and a massive surfing wave pool were all easily accessible to partygoers across both weekends.

A spacious, grassy amphitheater acted as the main destination for dance music enthusiasts, where the music from the main stage echoed throughout the vast water complex.
As for daily programming, the talent performing across both weekends included a who's who of stars from across the electronic music spectrum. Throughout both weekends, genres like techno, house, and progressive were all represented, bringing a wide array of dance music lovers together under the desert sun.

Chris Stussy is bringing his distinct brand of deep, groove-laden house music to the United States for a pair of summer concerts he's called the biggest headline shows of his career.
Dubbed the "USA Weekender," the two-night affair kicks off July 18th in New York, where he will take over the cavernous Brooklyn Storehouse for a late-night set running from 10pm to 5am. He'll head across the country the following evening, traveling west to Los Angeles for an open-air show at at Exposition Park, set against the city’s golden-hour skyline from 5pm to midnight.
The announcement follows Stussy’s return to Coachella in April and the successful debut of his "USS" event series at London’s Roundhouse earlier this year. With lineups carefully curated by the Dutch DJ himself, the weekender promises a "music-first" experience in both cities, showcasing a handpicked selection of special guests to complement his evolving style, according to a press release.
Known for fusing classic house sensibilities with sleek, modern production, Stussy has emerged as one of the genre's most influential new figures. These U.S. shows signal a continued expansion of his global reach as well as a chance for American fans to catch the rising star in his element.
Pre-sale tickets go live Thursday, May 1st, with Los Angeles access beginning at 10am PT and New York following at noon ET. General sales open later that day.

Feed Me has a hunger that only a new tour could satisfy.
The deeply influential British DJ and producer has announced a tour of the U.S. in May, when he'll feast on a number of major cities including Seattle, Denver and Chicago.
The tour's artwork is styled like the 90s PlayStation game WipEout. It features plenty of clever, nerdy details, like the "PAL" branding, which is used to denote that the contents of the game are from Europe, like Feed Me.
The virtuosic producer, whose real name is Jon Gooch, also revealed that he's working on a new album. He has not formally announced a title or release date for the record, which will be his first since 2021’s self-titled Feed Me.
"I am very much looking forward to heading back over to the USA for these shows coming up - I’ve been working on a new album, whole new set, new paintings as well as other project stuff," Gooch wrote on social media. "I’ve also been mostly offline while doing so…what started as a break from socials turned into a bit of a phobia about getting online again BUT here I am."
Feed Me's upcoming run will kick off May 9th, 2025 at Seattle's Substation. You can purchase tickets to the tour here.

When Armin van Buuren inhaled creatively last year, few expected the exhale would produce a tsunami of 51 tracks.
The iconic Dutch DJ and producer today revealed he's set to release the second half of his ninth studio album, Breathe Out. It serves as the companion to last year's Breathe In, delivering a comprehensive work that reflects van Buuren's renewed creative vision and improved mental health, according to a press release. Together, the two-pronged release forms his complete Breathe album, due out on June 27th.
After decades at the forefront of electronic dance music, the project represents a creative renaissance for the influential "A State of Trance" DJ, who has been candid about seeking balance between his meteoric career and personal wellbeing. Finding balance wasn't easy for the trance icon, but the payoff is clear: a massive collection of over 50 songs that showcases a mind finally at peace with itself.
"Breathe Out really shows how far I’ve come, not just as an artist, but as a person," van Buuren said in a statement. "This album is about creative freedom, living fully, and putting everything I’ve learned—especially through my journey with mental health and self-growth—into the music. In many ways, it feels like coming full circle."
The full Breathe album will feature a slew of high-profile collaborations, including music with David Guetta, Pendulum, Hardwell, Moby and EDM.com Class of 2023 artist Indira Paganotto. The expansive tracklist also features the legendary Bon Jovi, with whom van Buuren released the rock-infused rave anthem "Keep The Faith" in February.

After sharing the first of several collaborations from a new project last week, Flume and JPEGMAFIA have revealed the final details for their forthcoming EP, We Live In A Society.
The influential Australian electronic music producer and experimental hip-hop star will release the EP May 2nd. Its first single, "Track 1," dropped Friday via an absurd animated video that highlights Flume and Peggy's contrarian approach. Combined with the fact that the EP shares a name with the Joker-inspired meme, we can safely assume the duo is prepared to launch self-aware chaos.
We Live In A Society will feature four tracks, the second of which, "Is It Real," features Ravyn Lenae as its lone feature. Check out the tracklist below.

Flume and JPEGMAFIA have a storied history together despite making a name for themselves in different genres. In 2019, the former featured the latter on "How to Build a Relationship" from the Hi This Is Flume mixtape. Flume would return the favor last year with production credits on "New Black History" and "Cult Status" from JPEGMAFIA's album, I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU and its Director's Cut edition.

The first time Jessica Audiffred experienced a proper rave, she didn't know she was peering directly into her future. She only knew she'd never be the same again.
The Mexico City-born DJ and producer today dropped her long-awaited debut album, RAVE NEW WORLD, which functions as a sonic autobiography tracing her evolution from wide-eyed raver to genre-defying artist.
From an early age, the EDM.com Class of 2025 star says she immersed herself in rave culture alongside her brother, forming a deep, almost spiritual connection to the scene long before dreams of DJing ever surfaced. What began as a pure obsession with trance music evolved into a boundless love of other sub-genres like techno and dubstep, shaping the artist Audiffred would become.
"My love for music grew so much that I wanted to be part of it, though it never crossed my mind that I could become a DJ and tour the world because of it," Audiffred recalls. "This album is an ode to those early rave experiences and everything good they’ve brought to my life. Raving is like a comfort zone for me, and I know it’s the same for many ravers around the world—a place to escape."
RAVE NEW WORLD opens with "Keloke," a collaboration with fellow Mexican producer urboi. that immediately establishes Audiffred's cultural roots. The sound of Mexico City's underground bubbles up through the cracks of a filthy bass track as Spanish-language vocals weave through acid-tinged synths.
"Rave On" emerges as one of the album's emotional highs, a euphoric freefall where chae's wistful lyrics ("My sweetest escape, take me back to the day when the journey began") shimmer under crystalline synthscapes before Audiffred detonates a thunderous dubstep drop. The track is nostalgia at full speed, conveying the spiritual experience of her formative rave days.
What makes RAVE NEW WORLD particularly compelling is Audiffred's willingness to venture beyond her comfort zone. "Goes Like" and her collaboration with Nostalgix on "Afterparty" see her pivoting toward bass house and techno with remarkable dexterity. These aren't dilettantish experiments but confident expansions of her sonic palette, suggesting a producer more interested in artistic growth than entrenchment.
The most revelatory moment comes with "I Wanna Be Free," a liquid drum & bass track where she trades brute force for raw vulnerability. Leah Culver's aching vocals capture the desperation of self-reclamation as Audiffred delivers the album's heaviest track, not by weight, but by heart.
The rest of RAVE NEW WORLD is vintage Audiffred: unfiltered bangers that make you want to run through a wall, like "Unleashed" (with JEANIE and Dani King) and "Destiny" (with AlienPark). To that end, the album reminds us of the unifying power of a well-crafted drop and the enduring appeal of dance music that makes you feel something visceral.

After a six-year gap between full-length releases, Kai Wachi has announced his sophomore album, NEKROSIS.
Details are scarce at this time, but the album's title suggests a continued exploration of the dark, transformative themes that have defined Wachi's artistic trajectory. Known for his fusion of bone-rattling bass, Wachi has built a devoted following through his distinctive sound, which balances aggression and haunting melodic elements with lyrical themes like internal struggle and transcendence.
Scheduled for release on June 13th via Black Tiger Sex Machine's Kannibalen Records, it's the dubstep and bass music star's first album since 2019's debut DEMIGOD LP. From mythology to pathology, DEMIGOD examined the elevation of mortal to mythic stature while its successor appears to reference cellular death, perhaps symbolizing a shedding of old identities or a creative rebirth.
Wachi has released two singles so far in 2025, channeling his trap roots for "Drown" before teaming up with Aaron Richards for "Hold Onto Me," a soaring melodic bass track. Both will appear on NEKROSIS alongside collaborations with Point North, Trella and Julienne By, among others.
