Marvelous Monday with Dr. Shirley McKellar and Bishop L.J. Guillory is always the way to start the week!   In 2016 we will make some important decisions about the direction of our country and the lives of American people and families.  It is our civic responsibility to stay informed on the issues, pay close attention to the actions and decisions of our elected officials,  get to know the people who are running for office and educate ourselves and others about the importance of VOTING!  Let's get moving in the right direction for 2016, starting right here on Marvelous Monday!

Tonight we will discuss Trump's racist race to the moral bottom keeps him right at the top of the GOP primary polls!  We will also discuss the shooting at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs and the toxic rhetoric and attack on womens' healthcare which has been a particular focus of elected republicans for several yrears now.  When will our media and level headed republicans finally call this extreme and dangerous behavior out for what it really is?  Let's talk about it on Marvelous Monday!

Show your support for Dr. Shirley McKellar in her run for US Congress to send Louie Gohmert packing and give REAL representation to the good people of the First District in Texas!

After eating all this good food for Thanksgiving of which many people celebrate for different reasons. I celebrate being thankful for what I have and how far I've come as a person. You may not celebrate this day and that's cool too. I do want to hear about recipes and good food to try for next year or during the Christmas Season. As a lover of food, I am encouraged by new recipes and different takes on old ones. No one cooks like my Aunt Madeline, Aunt Pearl Dean, My Dad Willie Joe, or my Mom Dru at baking. With all these great cooks and chefs in my life it will be hard to be me on several recipes that I plan to share with you. Heck! We may even talk about what you are grateful for to this point in 2015.

Check out the Sagaponack Corn Pudding Recipe here!

Darrell Gardner's Horsemanship was founded upon four principles:

Showing Your Horse Love

By expressing love to your horse it helps to build a good relationship and strong bond. This will lead to a better response from your horse.

Gaining Respect

If you don't have respect on the ground, you won't have it on the saddle. Respect is an essential part of horsemanship and it begins with good ground manners

Teaching Obedience

Obedience comes with consistent training. This teaches your horse what you expect and how to quickly respond to the cues given.

Loyalty between the horse and trainer

It all begins with gaining trust. Your initial approach is extremely important. It takes patience and time to get your horse to gain faith in you.

"Holiday Showdown with Your Fox 'News' Watching Relatives: Counter-Talking Points to Help You Smack Down the Misinformed, Ugly, Fox Rhetoric at The Family Gathering!"

Once again right wing media misinformation is stoking the flames of fear!  The anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, and anti-refugee rhetoric has been ramping up along with the usual unabashed racism we have been seeing more openly espoused on many media outlets on the right and on hate-radio toward Non-Anglo and Non-Christian Americans.  Now we have seen peaceful anti-racism activists be abused and assaulted at Trumr rallies, including a young man, and #BlackLivesMatter activist, this week.  We have also seen a slew of governors, a vote in US Congress, and almost all of the GOP presidential candidates boldly express their rejection of the idea of opening our door to desperate refugees from Syria who have fled the brutality of ISIS.  This can mean only one thing for your family gathering this Thanksgiving!  That's right, your Fox 'news' watching relatives will be fully loaded with bogus talking points and hateful rhetoric, and they will have their GPS programed to zero in on your logical, fact based, critically thinking brain waves and the beating of your 'love thy brother' liberal heart!  Prepare for the showdown and arm yourself with the facts to smack down the predictable Thanksgiving dinner talking points,  with Eyes Wide Open: DemBlogTalk!   Our guest will be Sarah Slamen.  Sarah is a 3rd generation Syrian-American and a real activist for the Texas and the National Democratic Parties.  She has been in Louisiana campaigning for John Bell Edwards who won his gubernatorial bid to beat scandal ridden US Senator Vitter and become the new Governor-elect of the state!

We will also have our weekly #FeelThe Burn Report, LIVE from the Sanders campaign!
