Marvelous Monday with Dr. Shirley McKellar and Bishop L.J. Guillory is always the way to start the week!  In the post President Obama future we will have to make some important decisions about how we can best and most effectively work together to influence and guide the direction of our country in a way that makes the lives of American people and families better.  It is our civic responsibility to stay informed on the issues, pay close attention to the actions and decisions of our elected officials, and educate ourselves and others about the importance of VOTING in every election!  Let's work together toward these shared goals on Marvelous Monday!

My father died just a week ago and now the new phase of living with one parent begins. Many people are hurt and shattered when death comes close to us. I submit that we know ever since we were born that we will die. The older we get the more we prepare for it, hopefully. I want to talk about being prepared for the inevitable and then what ways there are to push through grief to set up a new way to look at life with a puzzle piece now inactive. I do not have all the answers, but I do have some that may help you and yours during the most difficult times we face. Let's deal with death right in the face of its sting and necessariness.

Tonight's Topics: -The latest revelations in the sexual misconduct and assault accusations against Roy Moore, the Evangelicals who, upon learning that indeed it has always been "common knowledge" that then thirtysomething Assistant D.A. 30something Roy Moore had a well known habit of trolling the mall and high school football games prowling for young girls, have responded by doubling down on Moore, and Alabamans who say they will absolutely vote for Moore because "even if he is guilty it is still better than voting for a democrat!" 

-More RUSSIAN COLLUSION! Don Jr. was in contact and seeming to facilitate coordination between the campaign and Wikileaks on disseminating the information from the STOLEN DNC and Clinton campaign emails! But of course, what we are supposed to recognize as the "real story" in all of this is that clearly the facts point to the Clinton campaign colluding with Russia to tamper with the 2016 election, so.....there ya have it? 

-And we will also discuss the latest shiny object in Trumpland, the DOD is now "looking into the possibility of appointing a Special Counsel to investigate the (TOTALLY BOGUS AND THOROUGHLY DEBUNKED) Uranium One/Clinton Foundation ties."  We can not facepalm with nearly enough force on this one!

I find myself often thinking back to my youth and what I did that there is no way on this green earth I'd do now. Then sometimes I ponder the thought of wanting to do now, what I didn't do then. After witnessing the catostrphic events chained together lately in a seemingly epic melody of calamity, I am more frequently preparing myself for the storm. Yes, there are hurricanes, fires, and wars to discuss, but I'm talking about the times we are in a whirlwind of learning and growth. It takes a churning effort to move some of us toward a new way of thinking. I once heard your wanting for success and growth has to be as bad as you want to breathe if you were nearing your last breath. We have no other option in this cyclical calamity we are living, but to want to be more than we were by striving for thriving. This episode is an open opportunity for us to grab a hold of what we need now to carry with us into the future. At the same time leaving what we once held to tightly that needed to be dropped or destroyed so we can have more space for expansion in our lives. I must admit I am guily of not taking heed to my own advice sometimes. Let's talk about our willingness to step out of the shadows. Let's pontificate on what it takes to go the extra mile. We can leave the Gumbo Talk with plans and goals to move what winds and water couldn't. We can takes our dreams from slumber to lumber and build on our hopes. It is necessary that we listen to the griots. It is our great awakening of this era. Our futures depend on us making the tough decisions, by living to strive through tough times. As bad as I want to breathe, I want to thrive
