Resident Artists Amy Rene Byrne and Aaron White are joined by Associate Managing Director Justine Drake, and Communications Director Emma Ginader to clarify the difference between Bloomsburg Theatre Ensemble’s Mainstage productions and Presented Events at the Alvina Krause Theatre. 

They both happen in the BTE space, but are two very different events! BTE's Mainstages are produced in-house from top to bottom, and Presented Events are brought in from outside of our organization. Learn all about what goes into our programming and what we hope to see in the future!

All about Raise the Region and why you should donate to BTE! Amy chats with Theatre School and Mainstage parents, Amanda Figueroa and Tim Sutton about their support of BTE, their daughter Margot's involvement, and how Tim ended up on BTE's Board. Listen in as they focus on Raise the Region, BTE’s largest annual fundraiser, emphasizing how even a $25 donation can be amplified through matching prizes during the 36-hour event run by Blaise Alexander.

Aaron, Kimie, and Amy discuss the theatre's role in sparking conversations within the community. They explore the challenges of maintaining a neutral space for dialogue amid increasing tribalism and political polarization. The Ensemble emphasizes the importance of uncomfortable yet courageous conversations and highlights 'Radiant Vermin' with post-show talkbacks and upcoming Playtasting of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. They also discuss the ongoing I Am/We Are project, which aims to gather stories from Bloomsburg's diverse community.

The Resident Acting Company sits down with long-time Managing Director, Jon White-Spunner to discuss his retirement, his time at BTE, and what's next on the horizon. 

Jon served BTE for nearly 20 years with love, care, and a whole lot of heart. He's one of the nicest men you will ever meet and BTE will miss him dearly, but we wish him the best of luck in everything that is to come.
